if Liverpool paid 20 million for him like is said before and we buy him next year for 15 million he would have cost them 5
but if our deal with them is higher on yearly payments then what Liverpool and Roma agreed on they can recoup their 5 million
let's say we will sign him for 4 years and he previously signed for Liverpool a five years contract, that can do the trick
yes its called depreciation and it takes effect regardless if the amount is paid in installments or all at once.

99% of the players are bought in installments and what you're saying goes for every single player.

It doesn't change the fact that we bought him for 12m eur and that those 12m eur will have to be paid sooner or later. Now, if we sell him, those money will go in the income and in the end we will know how much we lost/won on Martinez. Until then he is a player who'll cost Juve 12m eur over a period of 3 years.

Just read an interview by the chief medical guy at Liverpool stating that Aquilani is fully recovered from his knee injury and has been looking really sharp in pre season.

true but like I stated earlier he only costs us 12 million if he stays with us for the duration of his contract and leaves on a free
I realise that it is not the way to mention a transfer
it's easier to just say what he costs but it is a little bit more complicated and I didn't even mention wages and taxes
I know people here were always stating how much Martinez has cost us but I am merely saying that thus far he has only cost us our first payment and that there are ways to recoup that

No, it takes a couple years to build a championship winning team. I was thinking that no matter which players are brought in, Del Neri will not change his system. If you see Aquilani as a Pirlo-type deep lying playmaker, then Del Neri would have to magically become flexible.
Why? Regista DM combo isnt new to him. His success in Chievo was based around Corini and he is as deep lying playmaker as they come. And he has used that set up in all his teams. In Samp he couldnt really find that exact type (Volpi got over the hill), but Poli/Tissone are good passing CMs either way (similar to Aquilani type, and btw Aquilani isnt really a Pirlo type), and he allways used one of them.

So if Liverpool win the EPl this year do they have to pay Roma "sporting bonuses" even though Aquilani will be at Juventus?
I doubt.
Apparently, this was the deal

Liverpool forum said:
Roma gives the deal for him as being the following (figures in Euros):

Four payments - 5m, 3m, 7m (paid end of June just gone) and 5m due end of next June.

Add-ons:

0.3m every time Liverpool qualify for the Champions' League from 10/11 season to 14/15 season (max possible at time of transfer: 1.5m - now 1.2m heh)
0.25m each time Aquilani reaches the following number of league appearances: 35, 70, 105, 140 (max possible: 1m)
1m should Liverpool win the CL or the league by 13/14 season (max possible: 1m)

Total max cost: 23.5m euros
Total min cost: 20m euros

And then on top of that Roma will get 5% of his next transfer fee.

So if Liverpool win CL or the league Roma should get 1m eur, but I'm guessing that's only in case Aquilani is in the squad.
