Right, but you still didn't say why it would not work out. And I'm also pretty confident Marchisio can play a holding role despite him not being a real DM. He has the tactical and positioning sense to do so, in my view.

There is this perception around here that a DM must be placed into every single formation possible, which just isn't so, especially in a straight 4-4-2. As long as the two central midfielders can develop an understanding that accounts for one leading an attack forward, then having a DM that stays back all the time is not necessary. The system is set up so that both central midfielders have to do their fair share of defending and going forward, so it's best that they can do both. Our DM's, sadly, cannot, yet you sometimes see Sissoko screwing around near the opposition's box.

So I don't see any reason why we should not give it a try.

Premier League is very fast and physical. He will be a better player for this and now coming back to where he strated, I think he will do well.

If you read Liverpools main forum, when he played late in the season he played very well and they consider him a top 10 player at their club! They are shattered and beleive it is purely financial reasons he is gone. Not his fitness whcih they say is the best it has been since he arrived!

Really, it's all dangerous when you're as injury prone as Aquilani.

Thank god we have some new training routines, and a new medical staff. If Aquilani were walking into last years situation, we'd probably have to write him off already.

Im inclined to agree with Andy. Tackling is poor defending anyway.. it means a defensive mistake has already come to pass. Covering and positioning is most important. That and i'll be happy to see a football for a change in the middle.

Yes but after the pressure of covering is applied, how are you supposed to physically dispossess the opponent apart from intercepting the ball?
