Yea....but there are obviously a lot of cut scenes...you can't say that for the whole day they filmed that scene he didn't blink.

Word....
I know I know but I'm no actor and when people tell me not to blink I garantee you that I will. Kinda like a reflex.

De Niro is good at playing emotionally unstable fucked up in the head dudes.

While Mr Pacino is good at playing macho 'me me me me!' I don't give a shit fellas.

Pacino for me :D his smile is cuter too :)

**Sigh**ok, here goes, for me al pacino is a fantastic actor. well, at least he WAS a fantastic actor. in the er=arly days he did some phenominal movies-the godfather, dog day afternoon, serpico to name just a few. however i feel his last TRULY great role was in donnie brasco. everything else since then has been sone in pantomime fashion. devils advocate?please he hammed up the screen so badly i very nearly shouted "he's behind you" at the screen. don't get me wrong his speech in any given sunday was rousing,spine-tingling and passionate, shame the rest of the film is mince!

sure de niro has been enjoying himself in comedies lately but his turn in the score (average script, great performances all round)typifies just how cool de niro is, he says more with just a look of the eye than pacino manages with an over-the-top-speech any day of the week.

its the godfather and scarface vs meet the fockers? its a no brainer

and besides al pacino said what is the most inspiring speech in my life, the speeches in inches from the film any given sunday, which in itself wasnt his best film, but for that quote alone is imbedded in my life
you cannot compare scraface and the godfather to meet the fockers jackass, compare them with raging bull or taxi driver, oh and justa wee question-how many oscars did pacino get for the godfather?exactly, de niro did more in half a film to earn that oscar than pacino did in 3 films

pacino.

cuz would never do a movie with eddie murphy
nah pacino made a film with colin farrell:pumpkin:

:agree:

Goodfellas cant fuck with the trilogy nor can any other film de niro did against scarface.
again, watch raging bull, taxi driver, cape fear or if we are talking about performances tehn watch the deer hunter, long and slow but what a performance

pacino. but i think De niro has a certain swagger and character which gives off the impression that hes a natural badass. i know many wouldnt agree but for me, de niro is the best actor that i have witnessed imo.
:agree: well said man

Al Pacino of course.

De Niro always acts the same way, with all his characters lol

but Pacino, let's just say I almost believed that devil was cooler than God in Pacino's line in "Devil's Advocate":

"Watch but do not touch, touch but do not taste, taste but do not swallow" :D
elvin mate that was by far one of pacino's worst performances, he was so over the top that....well.....as i said above, i thought it was panto season

anyway i will add a poll, great thread

well, just as a sidenote..both actors will be embracing one another once again in a movie that is still being filmed ala heat style but they will be partners instead

the movie is called Righteous Kill
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1034331/

there is only one thing that is bugging me in the movie..ull find out why when u look at the casting list

well, even if the storyline is shit compared to the directing..these 2 will still instantly blow the movie away

That's exactly the reason why I always pick Pacino. Those are all great performances by De Niro, especially in Raging Bull which I consider to be one of the best performances ever by any actor, but....out of all those movies I only trully enjoyed only Raging Bull. Taxi Driver was again a good performance but the film did nothing for me, except the "You talkin to me" scene. Deer Hunter, another good performance but I was really disapointed with the movie, I expected a lot more out of it, truth be told I think Walken gave the best performance in that movie.

Both are great actors, the best of their era, but none of Pacino's masterpiece movies disapointed me, apart from Dog Day Afternoon a little, whereas that's not the case for De Niro. In the end it's all personal preference.

again watch the score, was a weak script really but de niro and norton with brando made it a superb movie to watch

i know what you mean, for example i love the performance in serpico but feel the story could have been tighter and a bit tenser, yet loved carlitos way. like i said i love both actors and it is a close run thing, its all about prefference. just will always defend de niro when dumbases compare scarface to meet the fockers:p

at least with you i can have a reasonable conversation............dumbass
