After The Del Piero Era ??? (1 Viewer)

I know that another Del Piero thread is the last thing this forum is missing but I think the subject worth discussing...

Wether we like to admit it or not, no one can name this era of Juve's history without association to its symbol Alex Del Piero

In the past 12 years I've witness a lot of Juve's glorious and depression moments which I cann't remmber without seeing Alex as a rule figure of those moments...

I still remmber my joy of his dying minutes goal against River Plate which won us the trophy and won himself a Hundai....

His extraordinary partnership with Pipo won us the 98 Scudetto then few years later another golden partnership won us the 2002 Scudetto and at the time even the great Zizo wasn't there to support...

Who can forget the 98 CL final as we were favorites against Madrid and Lippi promised the fans to return the trophy to Torinio after last year craziness show against Dortmund, everyone were waiting for the golden boy who scored the remarkable hattrick against Monaco but no one seems to find even his shadow...

In 2003 he shows a lot of his old self helping Juve to win the 27 Scudetto, I waited for him to shine and win us the CL against our biggest rival but once again his name associated with our disapointment and the fans rewarded with a heartbreaking PK loss...

Sorry for being sensitive but I feel this is the time for such thread now cuz I don't see DP adding so much to his Juve record in the near future...

Who will become our next symbol after the end of this dying era??
Do ya see any player of the current squad with enough charisma to lead a giant like Juve???

from the current squad, one name comes to my mind and that is zlatan ibrahimovich.
he has the flashinesss, thes style, the grace, the charisma that del piero at his peak.
he's capable of great things,he's capable of being the best in the world and bring teams to his knees.and hes only 23.he will get better through time,im sure of that.he might well be the player that fans look upto after the del piero era.

del piero is a big part of our history, but time moves on,we though replacing patini's abiity was difficult,we got baggio.
we thought replacing baggio's grace was difficult,we got del piero
we THINK replacing del piero's charisma is difficult, but we have zlatan.

im sure zlatan will define an era.he will get stronger and more lethal throgh time, and there is no reason why he might not bring the world to its knees while he's at juventus.

del piero leaving will be a very sad day indeed.
but we are lucky to have his heir to the throne already with us.

    Zlatan and mutu
I can see that both of them will be sold at a high price.
Forgive me for being so pessimistic, but there is a high possibility that their sales were to occur.

i honestly cant see mutu developing into a juventus icon.and i really dont know why.
i see zlatan more of an icon than mutu.
we dont even know how long mutu will be with us,looking at the low playing time he's getting.and with the possiblity of him being swaped for cassano next year,i still wudnt call him someone who wud become a juventus icon.

    i still think it will...ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC:cool:

zlatan isnt loved by the fans?
i thought he was was massivley popular
and cassano IS loved by the fans?

i was always under the impresson that half of juventus fans dont want cassano.

though if cassano is the one, then i cant complain:D

I actually think Mutu could be an affable figure, and if he gets high on the goal scoring charts this season, he could well be one with the fans. All that however, depends on Capello giving him a shot at it. :groan:

personally, mutu is the least likely one out of cassano, mutu and zlatan that i think will become a juventus icon.

and id still like to know why shadowfax thinks that zlatan isnt popular with the fans, and how cassano will become a juventus icon.
i wudve gone for cassano too,but then again,i still dont know how turin will respond to cassano's arrival.

what you read here doesnt really reflect things that are happening in curva. most people here were glad to see tacchinardi go, while others were sad to see another bianconero go..

    i guess you're right.
does that meen that a high percentage of juventus fans look towards cassano as the next icon and he's the one they want?

i still dont get why zlatan isnt popular with the fans though.
with his flamboyance,he should on top of the fans ffavourite list.

and with his arrogance and his misconduct, some Juve fans want ot shoot him down.
