He butcherd two chances in the game. He had like 3 to 4 seconds to pass to Chiesa but he just kept dribbling with the head down. Can't image teams like City or Real fxxk up a counter attack like this.

The second one, how can he not be aware of Chiesa being in a perfect position for a shot that could easily lead to a goal. I can imagine Pogba making a no look pass to Chiesa if it was him.

Not saying he had a bad game, but he's not a phase-3 player when it comes to key pass and vision. And that's exactly what holds him back from being a top midfielder.
These are good points, and I agree but for me this comes back once again to the key issue with our team right now. That is: we're not set up to maximise our players' best attributes and minimise their worst ones.

Rabiot isn't good in the final 3rd? Give him a role which minimises his time there. Dusan isn't good in buildup? Design our play to go through other channels. Weah's general technique isn't great? Avoid giving him posessionin tight situations
Rabiot is good at winning battles in the middle, and physically bullying opposition? Use him as our anchor. Dusan is a deadly finisher when chances are created for him? Make him the focal point of all our attacks. Weah is fast as fuck? Look to generate counters on his side where he basically needs to make 3 touches maximum, including his cross.

Yes many of our players are below or just below proper top class, but a good tactician would have this squad playing at a higher level than the sum of its parts. We have the pieces for a very good team.

Fraud seeing Rabiot as most essential member of this squad is enough to understand that he knows nothing about how great midfielder should play and perform.
Just fraud doing his fraudulent things.
But is Allegri really wrong here? I too see Rabiot as "one of the most essential members of the squad".
It says more about the squad than about Allegri.

I thought the same when looking at the list of captains. Who else are they going to be? Maybe Tek if he was interested, but he seems like a joker. Then you're looking at guys like Chiesa or Locatelli. We seriously lack leaders, and reducing the age of the squad also means players have to bridge the natural gap.

Between
a. Rabiot getting a renewal, 10m gross wage till 2026/27 BUT Allegri leaving after this season. And
b. Rabiot leaving on a bosman BUT Allegri getting an extension for another season,

I'd rather pick
c. neither of the above:cry:

I don't understand Allegri's game plan and why the coach likes Rabiot, a lazy player who doesn't know how to defend and has no idea about transition and passing a simple five-yard pass to a teammate.

Agree. Looking at what we've got and also how we play Rabiot is integral to the team at the moment.

He was fucking brilliant last season, let's not forget

Rabiot is Integral in slowing down attack plays. He is also Integral in misplacing final third passes.
I know he is good in defensive phase, reading opponent plays etc but that doesn't make him complete midfielder and certainly not one that deserves so high paycheck.

he has 8 assist in 4 years! How you can you justify those numbers as a midfielder????
You can justify them by being fraud and giving fraudulent statements about "most essential player", who is also a fraud, and fools around you believing it.
I don't understand how non throaters in this forum could be fulled believing at nonsense allegri is spreading.
