He starts for the most talented and stacked national team in the world. That must count for something, surely?

Then again, so did Khedira (2014) and Matuidi (2018), and I never rated them that highly.

I do think that Rabiot at his best has a higher ceiling than Khedira and Matuidi. He combines athleticism with good technical ability. His limitation is the effort he's willing to put in.

Also his salary is a bit overstatement here, yes he gets 6 or 7 mil net, but its with new tax law, meaning for Juve he is a cost like 4m player with normal taxes, which is nothing big.
It is big if he actually get 4 with new tax law. Even Depay come for 5M to Barca, we can't do 6 ?

Something is always lacking with Rabiot. He might have a high ceiling, but his average performances have been shitty. He doesnt seem to care too much, especially not when it gets tough, and that is a no go for our team, as a starter.

You will see different Rabiot if he with real capable manager
He will feel like a new signing, 7M per year while he is valued around 30-40M is easily means 4-5 years free of wages if we need actually paid his transfer fee
And between him and Ramsey who both International players, he will be able to surpass his wages and made it look just an adequate salary for him. So he will be easily sold in 1-2 years in the future

Good points, but not convinced he will suddenly change character because of getting another traditional Italian manager.
I would sell Ramsey and Bentancur and Berna before him for sure. But that doesnt mean that he should be a starter here ideally. Given our finances and amount of deadwood in the team, he most likely will have to be.

he will never have the character and he didnt have it with French NT - he was just instructed to cover his area and all other players did their thing. Which is not the case for Juve where all players are all over the place and u have gaps which cant be covered by one or even two guys.

It's unclear whether the new tax law is still applied. There were rumors about suspending it some time ago.

Besides, that means little. If Rabiot can make 7m net, then many players will consider themselves worthy of that. Long term we'll end up giving higher salaries because if that.

Surely, he'll be useful for Allegri so in the end he needs to be evaluated based on that.
No it isn’t suspended. I’m quite sure that I read that confirmation a few months ago.

He arrived before the tax law was implemented. Only last summer signings count, arthur, Morata, mckennie

Source? s4tch posted something but i dont know italian and i dont know if its reliable. Wherever i read it starts from beginning of 2020
Source in the text:

Basically Rabiot, Ramsey, De Ligt all benefit from the new tax rules, only the sumer months until 31 dec 2019 they could not yet. We paid the old tax rules until 31 dec 2019, and the new ones starting from the first day of 2020. So what hapenned is that their salaries became a bit less expensive for us this year compared to the previous one.

I see. I would love if its true, but why does the link i posted say it starts in 2020? And other sites say that too. Did they change it at some point?

Should be the last midfielder we sell. Has no fitness issues. High ceiling. Has all the physical characteristics to be an absolute monster. Any notion of selling him without seeing how good/bad he does under Max needs to be rubished.

Agree, but looking our pattern in transfer dealing, he will be the first one to out and secure that big plusvalenza (especially if we try to keep CR7)
