That is taking it over the top, I really doubt that has ever happened, it would be more likely the baby would be put up for adoption.
I don't think you get the point there - yes, the question asked you to judge a highly improbably circumstance, but the real point was that "It's never breathed" is a simplistic definition of life, and therefore not sufficient here.
You didnt understand what I meant, I meant it couldnt survive without the mum during pregnancy, as for your example yes because social services would probably take the child in.
Again, I think you misunderstand Gray's point Nicole. Dependancy isn't a charactoristic of the foetus alone. A newborn will die if it isn't nourished by someone. That doesn't make its right to life (or indeed its identity as a human being) any less valid. Likewise, Gray, like me, argues that just because a life is dependant, it does not mean that it cannot be a seperate identity.
As for what you said, the baby is her child. her responsiblity, her decision to make
In many respects, true. We do not give a mother the right to decide if her child should die however and if you accept that an unborn child has the same rights as a (for lack of a better term!) born one (which is the real point of contention here), then a mother doesn't have the right to determine that an unborn child is to die either.
, i find it a bit unfair that someone who has a abortion made like made out to be monsters, no they are.
I very much agree. Often, these women are afraid. You have to make allowances for that. Neither can I condemn someone who has done something which is neither illegal nor, in their mind at least, unethical.
What is wrong with someone wanting to live there own life before they have children?
Nothing at all. The issue is more clearly put however, with "What is wrong with someone aborting a child because they don't want a dependant?" The answer depends on the ethics of abortion - again, the issue is under debate here.
By then it can make them a better mother, instead of just being a teenage mum who cant cope, **** her head up as well as the babies'.
I've always maintained that the right solution here is adoption. A child shouldn't die because its mother can't cope with it.
