He just loves opposing what others say - he thrives on the attention, craves the limelight, and firmly believes posting numbers and stats presents him as some contemporary savant. However, taking away the spotlight from him will immobilize him, rendering him another superfluous cog in a society teeming with those looking for validation and purpose.

If you say yellow is better than red and red is abysmal, he will find flaws in your argument and utilize misleading and inconclusive stats to back his statement. If, on the other hand, you decide to go with red, he will revert to yellow and still manage to find figures, stats and "selective misinformation" to validate his point.
