cpu+motherboard+ram go together, if you upgrade one of them you'll end up buying all three. Your video card may or may not work with the new motherboard. The harddrive will work just fine, along with and cd/dvd drives.
no you can upgrade your ram, provided that you get the same type of ram that you previously have, that your motherboard has a slot for you to put it in and that your matherboard supports that much amount of ram
try buying some spyware or downloading some free shit. Ad-a-ware works pretty well for me. Sometimes you even have to go into your control panels and uninstall anything you dont need or want. Then go to C drive and program files and delete anything you dont want or need in there, but be careful if you delete something that you really need you could screw yourself. Try that before uping your ram if you really are that stingy you bastard.
