The Pakistani embassy here has its flag flying at half mast. There is a Pakistani in my department, Nadeem Bhutta's his name, and we have talked aout what we intend to do.

@ Don Bes, that is not a good way to respond to human suffering.

Hi my name is Ze Tahir, instead of doing something to help people affected by disasters i spend my time *****ing at a forum ;)
no sorry I can't go all the way over there and help. Maybe because I don't know how. However, I wasn't the one that made a dishearting comment. FYI, I had family who were effected. They were in Islamabad.

No, that shit happens some times and although it is nice to give money to the cause, you have to accept that fact sometimes that there is nothing one can do, and i am not required to do shit about it. If I am hurt or misplaced by something like that, it is not society's job or requirement to give me shit I may be an asshole because of that, but well, shit does happen. Am i sorry it happened, yea, it sucks, but, well, don't live on a freakin tectonic plate, don't work in a big ass building, and don't live near the ocean, they are all risks that are accepted everyday.

I don't really care about 9/11, the big wave thing, Katrina, Princess fookin' Di, or........yea, this.

    Sorry.

Maybe you feel that way, because you feel you don't have to help someone else out, therefore you don't feel someone else should help you out. The other thing is, they dind't chose to live on a tectonic plate. Most of those people don't even know what the hell that is. They are dirt poor, and their ancestors have been living their forever. No poor person decides where he's gonna live. An american poor person knows he can't live in Beverly Hills, and thoes that live in Beverly Hills don't want them to live their either, so where does society send them? To city that's under water and the most unstable place in America. Same goes for every other place poor people live.
