Attilio Lombardo, Di Livio, Padovano and so on weren't world beaters either.

Yet, we won the CL with them.

I don't have problems with the names, but in this case, these players suck, Padoin, Peluso, Giaccherrini can't be starters/playing big minutes in any teams competing for the champions league and my problem with them is that if you look at how much we paid to get these players, we could've easily signed better player at the same price aproximatively, Getting Padoin for 5 mil and Peluso for 5 mil and not signing Armero/Perreira is embracing mediocracity IMO.

That's funny. Bonucci was the best CB in an Italian team that reached the finals in European Championship.

Peluso will be our starter LWB, no .?? and that like i said the problem i have is how much we are paying for these mediocre players when we could sign better player at similar fees.

I think it's going to be Asamoah/De Ceglie for the starting LWB spot, Peluso would be backup.

Of course I'd prefer Pereira/Armero but I won't cut my veins if we get Peluso.

Then we have Marrone, Pogba, Padoin, Giaccherini.

And in the unlikely situation of both DC and Asamoah being out we have Pepe, Giaccherini, Caceres and Padoin who can play LWB. Not ideal, but neither is wasting money and squad space on Peluso.

If Peluso was let's say a RB and we got him to be a backup for Licht, that would be okay. But getting an average player in a position we need upgrade doesn't make sense.

And no, I won't lose sleep either if we get him.

Like Matt said, we could've won the Scudetto without the like of Padoin, and the problem isn't winning in Italy, we won't win in Europe playing the likes of Peluso, Padoin and to an extent Bonnucci.

had a very good second half of last season, very important in buildup in 3-5-2, altho he didnt show it against le city of trash in the supercoppa
also best italian cb at worldcup


About the players... we allways had an italian core, and we allways will. yeah those players arent very shiny, but good for teamwork, dont complain about getting benched most of the season and allways give their heart on the field.
juventus has allways been able to make such players perform well above themselves in the moment of truth

It's simple. We don't have a LB in the squad. Peluso is a LB. And he can play as a CB, a position where we really need depth.

From the little I've seen, he looks like a decent player. Tall, fast, decent passing.

One thing regarding this that bothers me though is that clearly nobody trusts De Ceglie, maybe not even to be a backup. He could very well remain in this squad to fill in the homegrown quota for CL, along with Marchisio, Gio, Marrone.
