VENEZUELA IS THE BEST TWICE IN 2003
Based on its performance in the world's most prestigious beauty pageants, Venezuela could be considered "the" destination for those who wish to see the most beautiful women in the world. In the last 10 years this South American country has produced 1 Miss World, 1 Miss Universe and 3 Miss International, in addition to countless runner-ups and finalists in these pageants.
In 2003 Venezuela has won two awards: the Grand Slam Award, for once again having finished in 1st place in the ranking which measures all countries' performance in the past 10 years, and the "Country of the Year Award", for being the most acomplished nation in 2003 alone.
Venezuela won the Miss International title with Goizeder Azua (photo), was 2nd in Miss Universe with Mariangel Ruiz, got a Miss World semi-finalist (Valentina Patruno) and only failed to place in Miss Earth.
Leader Venezuela kept an excellent point average in 2003.
Take a look at the Grand Slam Ranking's leader performance in the last 10 years:
MISS WORLD: winners: 1, runner-ups: 3, semi-finalists: 2, non-finalists: 4; MISS UNIVERSE: winners: 1, runner-ups: 9, non-finalists: 0; MISS INTERNATIONAL: winners: 3, runner-ups: 3, semi-finalists: 3, non-finalists: 1; MISS EARTH: non-finalists: 3.
Overall, 78% of the Venezuelan delegates sent to the 'big 4' since 1994 have placed in their respective contests, a record the rest of the planet loves to envy!
Will the streak continue? Most likely, after all, "en una noche tan linda como esta" ("in such an extraordinary nigh", theme song of Miss Venezuela), we can only expect exquisite beauties to walk away with the crowns and responsibility to continue this beautiful legacy…
So catch them, if you can...
