I'm not suggesting he would go back to Spain. Just that Spanish players have more suitors around Europe it seems. I could see a market for him in the EPL for example.
It's a good thing he's Spanish. I think they have more re-sale value, not kidding. An Italian flop would leave us with just Italian clubs to sell to, who are all broke.
It's pretty much common sense though. You watch the player, he has a lot of talent. Then you look at the stats and they're good as well. Then you look at age. Very young.
No-brainer that he's a top prospect. Who knows where he goes from here but he's got as good a starting point as any forward.
Yes Hydde. There is a real difference in close ball control with Llorente and Morata. Llorente's feet move at half the speed of Morata who is more like a modern Spanish player. Very quick feet in tight spaces, lots of short choppy steps that you'd usually see from smaller players. Way more...
Well ya, he definitely favours box play but he has some versatility. He's not like Llorente which is a pure target man.
He is a pretty disciplined player. He prefers one or two touch in midfield and move the ball onto a teammate, very Spanish style. But he has a good touch and close control so...
If there is a way out of the buy-back than I can stomach this deal.
Or maybe even if the buy-back is like 35M upfront in one installment, it might discourage them from using it but at the same if they do, at least we get a huge cash injection.
Don't think we were ever building that.
Lichtsteiner, Caceres, Tevez, Llorente, Pogba, Vidal, Isla, Asamoah.
Our most recently acquired Italian starter is Pirlo.
But yes, if you read this forum you would expect we were a 99% Italian team.
Right now Morata is saying he basically only wants to play for us, not even for Madrid.
If he becomes a star here will he really want to go back? Call me crazy, but I think even with a buy-back we'll find a way to keep him here.
I think Morata is capable of playing the wing as well. I would prefer him primarily as a CF but in case of injury or maybe to get him some more playing time, he can play the wing.
It's obvious now what our philosophy has become. Chasing young players that can potentially play a decade in our shirt for an initial fee that is not small but their youth will help them maintain some re-sale value and I think most importantly, we don't have to re-negotiate their wages down from...
I like the way Morata plays. When he fills out his body he could be quite a complete striker. He has very good instincts from what I've seen and also knows how to touch and move on the play. Typical Spanish characteristics.
