Well Suse and Mandrake are quite similar. Simple but the user is in power, Lindows contradicts that, you get less options, less control over the system. Red Hat is much like Mandrake and Suse, only less user friendly IMO.

;) I remember I saw a hack for WinXP once, it would display the build # for your XP on the desktop. Not only does that not have any useful purpose at all, it can actually help MS track down the piracy cycle (through screenshots) if they know which build got out of hand somewhere...

Why would I write it on my desktop? It's not like it's hard to remember or anything :undecide:

Right click on the image and select properties. :) Some games do, some don't. CM isn't exactly (and shouldn't be) graphically intensive. When I allow it to try and change my resolution, directx f. up and locks my screen. Haven't tried running it in Windows though, not since CM4 demo.

Majed, I answered your question before. ;) As you can see from the screenshot, my working resolution is 1600x1200 :) Besides, CM crashes on me when not running windowed.

Just remove it then. When I said you can install it, that's provided you have the harddrive space for it. You can *probably* resize a partition and make room for Linux when you run the installation program from the cd, but if you want to be on the safe side (or if it doesn't work), use Partition...

Yes, it will be more difficult. Why? Because you are used to doing everything the Windows way, you *will* find Linux more difficult. For people who have used neither, studies show they are very comparable but for Windows users, Linux seems harder. If you want to try it, try one of the very...

Max, good to see you again :) You know I've been using Windows less lately, trying to get by with Linux and it's really a matter of learning the little things that make it more comfortable before you realize you can give up the things you're so used to in Windows. Breaking a habit is going half...
