Rui Barros was NOT a defensive midfielder ffs. Can one of the true juventini here help this misguided fan? Denco? anyone? Barros usually played behind the two strikers Zavarov/Schillaci and Casiraghi, in a "regista" role, and sometimes even in a more advanced position as a "seconda punta"...

Yeah Henry played a decisive part in Juve's 1999 Waterloo : seldom has a player been so decisive for a team in such a short (6 months) period of time, no doubt. Rui Barros was a defensive midfielder??? Son, I suspect you were not even born when Barros played : the 1 m 50 or so Portuguese was an...
  3. Kaiser Franco

    The team of 20 years.

Those who know me here have seen me bashing Del Piero on a regular basis, be it for his weak character, his dubious muscular mass gain, his tendency to miss out in big games, or his silly advertisemnt for Acqua Uliveto and CEPU. However, if we have to compare his contribution to Juve's success...
  4. Kaiser Franco

    The team of 20 years.

Yes he did play good seasons at Juve, however he only was really outstanding in 93 (when he was awarded the Ballon d'or as a result). The early 90's Juve was an excellent team also, with the likes of Moeller, Platt, Kohler, Dino Baggio... The fact that Baggio was never really decisive with a...

No he didn't. As I said, his highest achievement on the European front was the 1993 Uefa Cup, which he did win almost single-handedly. He also led Fiorentina to the 1990 Uefa Cup final, only to lose it to his future club Juventus. Moreover, Baggio never actually played a prominent role in the...

Baggio got you the CL? Last time I checked, Baggio never won the CL with any of the 7 teams he's played for. The only European trophy he won by playing a big part in it is the Uefa Cup in 93. Mind you, all of the players in my formation except Buffon, Thuram and Nedved did win the CL with Juve.

Kohler is the only defender who has ever managed to contain Van Basten without committing a foul on him.
  8. Kaiser Franco

    The team of 20 years.

fair enough. Gigi De Agostini is another great left-back that Juve have produced in the past 20 years btw. And Fortunato would probably have become the new Cabrini, had he not died of leukemia at such a young age.
  9. Kaiser Franco

    The team of 20 years.

How Ferrara and Zambrotta come ahead of Kohler and Cabrini remains a mystery, however
  10. Kaiser Franco

    The team of 20 years.

because all in all he played only one good season with Juve?
  11. Kaiser Franco

    The team of 20 years.

Well, here's an idea of a line-up regarding the best Juve team of the last 20 years : ------------------------------------------Buffon---------------------------------------------- ----------------Thuram------ Scirea-------Kohler-------Cabrini----------------------...
