Typical niggly and disrupted game, exactly why I wasn't so confident. We got caught up in the Roma circus here tonight. Our front six players just played too poorly to expect anything better than a draw. Oh well, we will play a lot better in other games, just be thankful we got a draw.

Odd from Emerson, you would assume Roma would have been just as important for him, also considering he had the same coach. But I guess Juventus has that magical feeling.

Yeah more big defenders now, not so many who would bring the ball from defence. Football just evolves all the time, it has become more athletic, although it seems to be changing again right now. Barcelona are to blame, now everyone wants to be Barcelona/Spain at club and international level.

That is also a tactical factor, I'm sure you've seen old Italian coaches moaning in the media how defenders all mark zones now rather than the man.

That's a tactical issue, not to do with the standards of football.

I'd rather Giaccherini than Estigarribia, even if I like both players. Roma's defence is there for the taking, and playing the more rounded Pepe and Estigarribia with Matri against them may not be the best way. I suppose we can start with that and then see where it leads.

In the past we have slipped up when we have had the chance to pull away a bit more (I consider Milan a bigger threat than Udinese long term), it's be a big test for us to see our mental strength.

I'm of the mindset that if you miss your regular players in a position then you will always be that little bit weaker as a unit, regardless of talent. If this is Roma's starting defense for some time then maybe not as much, but I see players out of their natural position all over that defense...
