I wasn't talking just about Pirlo. Not that I agree with that anyway, and I'm not Pirlo's biggest fan. He was a key part of the CL winning team in 2007 for one, had a strong season again in 2007-08. Since 2009-10 his output has gone down.

Every player from the 2006 team had been out of form since then, it seems. It's nonsense, but a nice soundbite.

Well at the moment we are guessing on wages anyway, but I'd be annoyed at any more than €3m. I wouldn't expect a free transfer Pirlo to be on much less though, when he could pick up a lot in the gulf states.

Pretty much, it has to be Pirlo +, not Pirlo and then say that is good enough.

He's a hard working player, always has been. He's not going to destroy anyone though.

The question is, does Pirlo have the desire to win anymore, and is he going to stay fit enough?
