Live Mercato Meltdown - 2012/13 (pants filled in 3,2...)

Nope. Marotta: "Our mercato is closed." http://www.calciosport24.it/2012/08/30/ultimora-juventus-marotta-bendtner-no-top-player-ma-opportunita-nostro-mercato-e-chiuso/ He also said in this interview: "Bendtner was not the top player we were seeking, but in a difficult mercato he was an...

Not having depth is pretty weak too, though. I'm not gonna argue with you, because you rate Llorente. I'm glad we didn't spend 20 million + on him. Besides, Bilbao aren't selling. He's obviously better than Bendtner, but definitely wasn't worth the investment. As for Dzeko, City aren't...

Yeah, but remember wages. I'm with Boksic, and I've been saying it for a long time. I get flamed all the time for saying it, but I honestly don't believe we have 25 million + to spend on a striker.

Forget the "step up". We need a striker now solely for the purpose of having an option in case our other strikers get injuried.

Soldado just signed a new deal. Huntelaar would be a good signing at this point, imo.

Right. So he's already here. Well, there's our striker. :scared:

So what the fuck do we do? Call back Iaquinta from his loan? :sergio:

Live Mercato Meltdown - 2012/13 (pants filled in 3,2...)

The title race is wide open now, if you ask me. We're still the best side in the league, but we'll be competing in more competitions than Inter. Our failure to land a very good striker has made Serie-A more interesting, and we could be in for a hell of a ride.

This would also mean no straight up purchase, because the two targets Llorente and Dzeko are simply off the market. This implies our only remaining options are loan deals. There are only two names available for those. Bendtner and Borriello.

Live Mercato Meltdown - 2012/13 (pants filled in 3,2...)

Yeah, that's just not happening. It's Bendtner or Borriello now, definitely.

The news that were reported were correct. A deal was made with Manchester United and a contract offer was put forward to Berbatov. It's the opening of the player-thread that's the issue here. (Not a big issue, though, I still got love for the gurus :) )

There's no "oh well" when it comes to Bendtner. Sign Bendtner and it couldn't get any worse, really. Borriello is better! Sign Bendtner and crash out of the CL in the group stages.
