I don't think he is anywhere near good enough offensively to be playing for a decent side in a 4-3-3. But like you say his positioning defensively is quite poor and often switches off.

Could we not send him back to udinese to lower the fee for pereyra or did we give him too much of a pay rise when bought him from them?

We are a big club who deal in the present and don't try to sacrifice the present for a potential future. This logic doesn't make sense to me, in Conte's 3-5-2, the wing backs are just as crucial as the CM position you mention.

The right back situation had been solved with Licht a season before we bought a half-share in Isla. So I was clearly talking about the list of RB failures before we actually managed to get it correct by addressing the problem and spending money on licht. Isla isn't a right back and I'm sure...

Lot of talk about Chiello at LB offering nothing in here, reminds me of the time Capello brought him on to play LW against Arsenal at Highbury when we were down.

Would prefer Licht against Chelsea personally, he'd do a much better job against Hazard, who is a key player for them that will need controlling. I don't trust Isla to do that job.

Defensively Licht > Isla Offensively Isla > Licht Depends on what you're looking for. The biggest loser in all of this is Caceres who hasn't put a foot wrong really, but will clearly struggle to ever hold down a first team spot, while the likes of Isla, Licht and Barzagli are fit.
