I’ve come around on Rugani, not that I ever really hated him. But maybe he’s another one of those defenders that peaks later in their career. He’s reliable now and never complains. Allegedly taking a paycut to stay. If he keeps putting in performances he should push for more playing time...
if you’re taking a coach or an executive at his word during a press conference, that’s on you. Dunno why any of them even get interviewed anyway, there are only a couple that can and do stray from their media training. They’re programmed to “lie”
Yeah in a 442. Im saying if one or two of his CBs get hurt he will switch to a back three before relying on Rugani in any sort of expanded role. Were not talking about spot starts.
Danilo is essentially the fourth CB. Doubt Rugani would ever start over him in a situation where one or two of the other 3 are injured/suspended. Allegri would just switch to a back three before that happened imo
don’t think those moves had much to do with Rugani. Demiral wanted to leave to get more playing time and Dragusin has more opportunities to play at Sampdoria as well. Rugani is probably only here because no one else wanted him.
At this point the only surprise would be if he didn’t have a solid performance. Hopefully it’s just one game though, don’t really wanna see him anymore than that.
I have a challenge. There was this center back Juve had a couple years (not within the last two years, but longer) ago, that had a little hype around him. I forgot his name, but he was Italian and had blondish hair.
