Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

:sergio: I'm not surprised. The sooner Marotta is out, the better. This guy hasn't got a clue what he's doing.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

We better not be using straight 4-4-2 next season. If we are, kiss the season goodbye.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

What would be the disaster in that?

    Barfworthy.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

I'm not sure what Conte would do. That's the scary thing. He's still an unknown as a manager.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

Managers addicted to a certain formation, like Del Neri, would use Pirlo if they've used Aquilani.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

If you get someone like Sanchez or Aguero for the opposite flank of Krasic, along with someone like Lichtsteiner or Isla for the RB role, guys who can attack and defend, Pirlo would have options. That's the good thing about the 4-3-3 as well, there tends to be a lot of movement. But if Pirlo...

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

Even so, Pirlo is still the better player.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

Pirlo is still the better player. You don't sign someone like him unless you intend to use him as a main guy, at least that's what Marotta and DN would think. I couldn't imagine this Aquilani starting over Jocelyn Blanchard if he was still here.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

But he wouldn't be a depth signing. He'll be the main guy in midfield.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

I mean fine, great. Pirlo walks into the team and strings together some nice passes, improves our fluidity in midfield straight away. But in another two years at most, we will need to find a replacement again. And we don't even know how much of an impact Pirlo will have here with a very...

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

Uh huh, I'm sure personal bias doesn't come into play there. How much you sale da snake oil 4?

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

Yes. I can imagine all that. And even with both Pirlo and Totti in their primes, it wouldn't be 20 times better than what it is now with Xavi and Iniesta.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

20 times better? Really? That's not a number? Pirlo is a better free-kick taker. Xavi doesn't make a lot of long passes because of the style of play, but whenever he does, they are brilliant. The chips over the defense he makes are just as good as Pirlo's for sure. No doubt about that.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

People like to pull random numbers from their asses, it must be said. Pirlo wouldn't add anything that Xavi doesn't already do for them.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

Excellent in Serie A, yes. Compared to players in all leagues, no.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

The downfall of the game, in my opinion, revolves around this. If I wanted to watch strength and pace, I'd watch the NFL. That's why I think many Prem fans are watching the wrong sport, not league.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

Different sorts of players. We're talking about passing range and ability here. Cossu makes more crosses than long range stuff.

Andrea Pirlo - CM - AC Milan

Anybody who goes around claiming anything is the greatest of all time without living for even a third of that time is an imbecile. But then again, what you wrote is all opinion as well, so it's their word against yours. The Milan of 2003 was not all that great and if Pavel had played, we...
