What Fabio knows is that you're an anti-italy fanboy, so you evaluate situations differently depending on whether Italy is involved. It's sad how readily people are willing to sacrifice their objectivity because of some stupid grudge.

FIFA is way too backwards, they haven't even introduced the headsets UEFA refs use now. Would've been the perfect occasion too, what with all the vuvuzela noise.

Well I kinda have some sicilian roots, so I don't really believe in the whole northern/southern grudge.

[WC] World Cup 2010 - General Talk Thread

Hey if you love him as a player/coach that's fine with me, but I can't get over the fact that he's a complete douchebag as a person. A couple of weeks before the WC when he drove to the training ground, he drove over the foot of a reporter. True to character, he leaned out and shouted "Watch...

Player maybe, but it's too early to call him a great coach.

Don't get me wrong, Maradona is/was the greatest player to ever play the game. Doesn't change the fact that he's a complete asshole.

[WC] World Cup 2010 - General Talk Thread

Probably because they were all too young to remember '90. You are aware of the fact that he's not allowed to enter italian soil, right? At least not without going to jail that is.

   OMG that is the most ridiculous statement I've heard yet. You should talk to some people about Maradona next time you're in italy.

The ref probably had an "unfortunate accident" a couple of months after the game and so did everyone who was "in the know" :shifty:

See that last point I totally agree with. The reason "the powers that be" don't want replays might well be that they would no longer have the possibility of maipulating games.

The point is that you can't change the past. That and the fact that you can never prove it was fixed. Yes, suspicions and signs, but no evidence. What we should do is prevent it from happening again. Unfortunately, without replays or similar, football will still remain highly fixable.
