Of course. No sane person is actually going to believe Motta would still be here next season if we miss out on the CL. A coach who's been successful (with us) in the past might get a pass when failing to qualify. But a newbie like Motta? Not a chance. Then again, maybe I'm just thinking about...

Of course not. I'm okay with giving him some time, because it's his first "big" job and he has to deal with a small & extremely unbalanced squad, but as soon as CL qualification becomes virtually impossible, he has to go. Even if it means firing him in, for example, March.

Personally, I expected a few more wins/points. And, by this point in the season, better performances in general. (Better does not mean more attacking, obviously.)

Nope. He isn't great in very tactical or closed games. You definitely can't expect him to hold the shape of the team together like Locatelli does, for example. That's why/when people complain about him. But play him to his strengths (lots of open spaces to run into, somewhat free role), and...
