Why would Matt lie?

Let's assume Snobist is a G and Alen a C. He has contacted Alen during the day (if we assume this is true - this could be a lie - which means Alen is a G too). Alen implies he's the BG but doesn't reveal the conversation (red flag). What is the motivation for a G to do that? Even if he's crazy...

If the D has investigated Matt and knows he’s a g, his only game is gunblaze him. That’s what the gs want too and they will earn it because there’s no other game for the D.

Unfortunately, I can't write off the possibility that Snobist is neither a G nor the BG. 1- If Snobist is a G, he really has no reason to claim to be the BG. Even if he's an independent thinker, as a G, he would have been restricted by his mates. 2- He might be a C claiming to be the BG...
