    [ITA] Serie A 2015/2016

The team are doing well in Serie A and the Europa League this season, but Fiorentina fans wish their owners should show a bit more respect and ambition http://www.theguardian.com/football/the-gentleman-ultra/2016/feb/25/fiorentina-fans-customers-europa-league

    Endless Summer Mercato 2016

:boh: Obviously Juve were looking for a trequartista last summer and since then there has been no shortage of stuff floating around suggesting Saponara will be a Juve player next season. Don't know if there's anything much to that, though.

Sure am. If I was looking for really hard courses I'd be staying at home.

    Paulo Dybala

Indeed. I never quite understand people singling out individuals (or arguing over who was the worst player among several options) in such circumstances instead of just acknowledging there was a collective issue (mental/tactical) leading to a collectively poor performance.

    Paulo Dybala

Has Dybala played against that level of side before? Or were Juve the best team he's played against? Anyway, he's not yet accustomed to that level. There is always an issue that when a player like him gets the ball so little in a game he will tend to lack the composure to do the right thing...

    [CL] JUVENTUS 2-2 Bayern [23rd February, 2016]

I thought Costa was alright. He delivered enough good crosses that I would be questioning why Lewandowski and Mueller weren't threatening to score from them.

Just booked me a jaunt to Portugal. Few days of warm weather and some golf.

    [CL] JUVENTUS 2-2 Bayern [23rd February, 2016]

Oh, and you'd have to say that each of Juve's back four did very well to limit the damage in the first hour of that game.

    [CL] JUVENTUS 2-2 Bayern [23rd February, 2016]

Well that's about the worst game I can recall from Allegri in the CL for Juve or Milan. Juve were extraordinarily passive and the whole game up until Bayern's second goal was just waiting to see how many goals Bayern would score. Juve's defence was stretched too wide. That meant the...

    [EU] Europa League 2015/2016

Fiorentina failed to stretch the game in the first half. Too many short passes around defence and midfield and not enough width and players moving away from the ball. That all suited Spurs as they wanted to press Fiorentina high and they could press hard because Fiorentina showed no...

    [CL] Champions League 2015/2016

He's certainly an extremely limited player. No brain, no right foot, not technically good. He's fast and a good finisher with his left foot. Not easy to fit that to a team - certainly not easy to do it without unbalancing the team and limiting other players. And he's not reliable enough that...

    [CL] Champions League 2015/2016

Well that was the best game I've seen Roma play in quite a while. Luck and the referee were against them, so they didn't get what they deserved out of the game. Liked the general shape of Roma, with them managing to keep Perotti and Salah high enough up the pitch the threaten on the break but...

    Leonardo Bonucci

My first thought was that it may have just been a dead leg from the collision. Was able to play on initially, but sitting still at half time will have made it stiffen up too much.

    [Serie A, 25th round] Juventus 1-0 Napoli [13th February, 2016]

Not a terribly interesting game. Neither team were really taking risks and neither team made it difficult for the other to contain them. Juve - not unreasonably - spent long periods looking like a team playing an alien system. There was never any hint of cohesive team movement. It was...

    [Serie A, 25th round] Juventus 1-0 Napoli [13th February, 2016]

Wouldn't be a bad result for either side. And when that is the case, there is always a good chance of a draw being the outcome.

    [ITA] Serie A 2015/2016

Not sure. He may end up a regista, in the way that Montolivo did after gradually being given more responsibility and moving deeper over several years. Just now I see Cataldi as a tidy all-rounder that is well suited to the role I've seen him play most for Lazio - providing the link between the...

What Are You Doing Right Now?

Not really, but 'quite the reverse' is a normal phrase and 'quite the opposite' isn't. People are going to understand what you mean either way, though.

You need to know what those booking are for to make any sort of judgement. Interesting player, but don't see him as a regista.
