Elkann: 'Juve don't need Ibra'

Juventus chief John Elkann has slammed the door on talk of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return. “He is the past, this team doesn’t need superstars.”

The last few weeks have seen increased rumours of Ibra coming back to Turin, as he is unsettled at Paris Saint-Germain and ranted angrily at fans.

Bianconeri director Pavel Nedved opened the door to a return, but FIAT President Elkann slammed it shut again.

“The Swede is part of Juventus history,” said Elkann today. “However, this team doesn’t need superstars.

“The real strength of this Juventus is the team unit.”

Ibrahimovic left the Bianconeri in the summer of 2006 after their demotion in the Calciopoli scandal, joining arch rivals Inter.

In case you wondered why we dont spend over 20 mil on a single player, it just spoke.

Zac my dear friend, are you high? You can't even calculate Zlatan's age but for your information, he is almost 32 now. An awesome player, very skilled, very talented, but a short term solution, too costly, and fans don't like him. Lets move on and invest on a younger player who will wear the #10 for several years.
he's birthday is in october, thats more then half a year away, i hardly call that "allmost 32"

I was wrong about his age when he joined juventus. i was right about how good he has become over time.

we don't need him to win Serie A and he won't get us nowhere in the Champions League, so why would we need the trouble Zlatan brings to the team?
PSG also doesn't seem short of money and he's their most important player, what makes people think we might get him at a discount from what PSG payed 7 months ago?
last but not least, isn't Juve a bit more than a team that steps on the field every Sunday and pays wages at the end of every month? Zlatan clearly doesn't fit in the reasons why I support Juventus, he had his chance with this magnificent club and decided to run away at times of difficulty, that should be it.

Gotta feel for zacherjew, he had a tough time with all this talk about his favorite camel and then the slaughter of his favorite team.

What he calls superstars, i call them proper players. This team do need them. Elcunt should shut the fuck up. Sometimes he makes me wonder if he is unhappy with Juventus' chance of being a superpower again. Maybe he is still getting instructions from third parties.

We have two problems in signing the mystical forward player; price and suitability. When Elkann talks about the 'superstar' type of player he is talking about not having someone who is bigger than the team. Any striker we sign has to be for a competitive price, but will also suit how the team builds from the back and defends from the front.

If the money was avaialable, who would you sign as our mythical top striker? Cavani would suit our team to a tee IMO.

I $#@!ing love seeing some of the hypocrites in this thread, who basically search out any opportunity at all to twist translations and try to make some of our current players look like selfish, disloyal pieces of $#@!...

But they're totally willing to give this $#@!ing douchebag a pass, when all the disrespect needed should be laid out in front of them on video, and in pure English? $#@! Zlatan with a broken off broom handle, this cancer can stay right the $#@! away from our club.

With all the respect, all the unity at the club right now, with a great base of youth, and a functioning wage structure, I think this would be an absolutely terrible move. Yeah, lets have some blossoming stars looking up to Ibra on how to conduct their professional lives... $#@! that.
Excellent.
