One of the finest players ever to don the black and white stripes, Zinedine Zidane, celebrates his 40th birthday today.
The mercurial midfielder, who joined the club on the recommendation of Michel Platini, lit up the Delle Alpi between 1996 and 2001, contributing to a host of triumphs in the process.
He lifted the Scudetto twice and enjoyed Italian Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Intercontinental Cup and Intertoto Cup successes.
But Zidane didn’t just make a mark on the domestic front. Throughout his time with Juventus, his headed double lifted France to a 3-0 World Cup final victory over reigning champions Brazil in 1998.
And two years later, he completed the double, conquering Europe after a tense clash with Italy was settled by David Trezeguet’s golden goal.
Following five unforgettable years, Zidane bid farewell to his adoring public in the Bianconeri’s final game of the season against Atalanta on 17 June 2001.
All associated with Juventus Football Club wish Zinedine a very happy birthday.
