There is a good chance Zidane will return to Juve one day, but that would be as a coach with a lot of power, not in some vague role like "advisor".

Honestly, perhaps coaching isn't for him. Perhaps he wants more control in terms of bringing in players etc. Maybe this is grooming him for an eventual executive role with a club, not necessarily Juve. Remember, he earned his dues as a coach with Real Madrid's youth squad for some time. This could be a similar move.
