So there are three rounds remaining in Serie A. If we get 7 points out of the remaining 9, that will wrap up the title for us regardless of Milan's results. It's not going to be easy for us, as we face a Parma side that is still not safe from relegation, not to mention their in-form striker is the top scorer in Serie A. Livorno away isn't going to be a walk in the park, and we all saw what Cagliari did to us earlier in the season.
So I thought I'd try to write up the different permutations of results that can occur and their consequences... I hope I can be bothered to write all this and make it to the end of the post :sleepy:
I don't really know how I'm going to set this out (points breakdown, results prediction), I'll just think of the possibilities as they come...
--------------------------------
The remaining matches:
Juventus - Parma
Lecce - Milan
Livorno - Juventus
Milan - Palermo
Juventus - Cagliari
Udinese - Milan
--------------------------------
As I said before, if we can get 7 out of the remaining 9 points, we'll win the title regardless of Milan's results.
If Milan get 9 out of the remaining 9 points, Juventus need 7 points to win the title. If Juventus get 6 out of the remaining 9 points, a playoff will decide the champions.
If Milan get 7 out of the remaining 9 points, Juventus need 5 points to win the title. If Juventus get 4 out of the remaining 9 points, a playoff will decide the champions.
If Milan get 6 out of the remaining 9 points, Juventus need 4 points to win the title. If Juventus get 3 out of the remaining 9 points, a playoff will decide the champions.
If Milan get 5 out of the remaining 9 points, Juventus need 5 points to win the title. If Juventus get 3 out of the remaining 9 points, a playoff will decide the champions.
If Milan get 4 out of the remaining 9 points, Juventus need 2 points to win the title. If Juventus get 1 out of the remaining 9 points, a playoff will decide the champions.
If Milan get 3 out of the remaining 9 points, Juventus need 1 point to win the title. If Juventus get 0 out of the remaining 9 points, a playoff will decide the champions.
If Milan get 2 out of the remaining 9 points, Juventus win the title.
If Milan get 1 out of the remaining 9 points, Juventus win the title.
So basically:
If Milan draw one of their remaining matches, Juventus only need 5 points
If Milan lose one of their remaining matches, Juventus only need 4 points
-------------------------------------------------------
Damn, that didn't turn out to be as informative as I thought it might be. Pretty simple maths to figure out in your head
-------------------------------------------------------
Okay let's try something else:
If Juventus beat Parma and Milan beat Lecce..
ahh screw it, I can't be bothered and I have to go to class.
