Did anyone happen to see Zaragoza-Barcelona? Or at least catch the highlights of the game? The home crowd made racist remarks towards Eto'o during the entire game.

After 75 minutes Eto'o, and any sane person, had had enough and tried to walk off the pitch. He was stopped by his team mates and the ref though. He made one very nice gesture in which he took a black Zaragoza player by the arm and showed him to the home crowd.

In my opinion it's distasteful referees let these games continue. How on earth is Eto'o supposed to have a normal game? Of course he will be distracted and of course that will have an impact on his performance. Other than that racism is quite simply idiotic and should be treated with harsh measures. I would even go as far as saying this game should have been stopped and Barcelona should have been granted a 0-5 win.

Yes, i think ref should stop the game and for punishment for the crowd(home team or what ever) give the opponent team the victory. They give victorys when fans throw fireworks on the pitch but this is actually much more disgraceful and the team whos fans do this, should always loose the game.

I also watched the game and was sickened by what I saw, no player should have to put up with that abuse, football's supposed to be bigger than this, hope the Spanish FA sort this out, the world's watching to see what they do. I was heart sick for Eto'o but was glad he stayed on and set up the second for Larsson. bravo Samuel.

Here is footage from the match last night:

This is just fvcking disgraceful and thankfully at least some of the Zaragoza players and officials spoke out against this nonsense.

The best way to shut those racists up is putting the ball in their goal, just like Henry did against Madrid this past week. Bravo.

Eto'o has a fine line to walk. I think it's key that he draws a line of public tolerance for bad behavior. But he also has to be careful not to egg them on, fueling the fire.

Racism is a battle for hearts and minds. It's critical that to win it, you have to keep your own cool and focus your efforts on putting the racists in the most offensive and idiotic light possible as a demonstration for all to see.

I doubt most of those so called fans are actually racist though. To me it looks like they're not insulting Eto'o because he's black, but because he's a Barcelona player. Racism becomes a weapon. I doubt many of those Zaragoza fans are racist in every day life. Yet this attitude, that racism is alright when aimed at an opposition player, should also be punished.

i agree. some fans are drunk, small minded and plain simply idiotic. this shouldn't have happened but i also doubt all those fans are actually racist, they were just trying to provoke eto'o in the most disgusting way. though there really is no excuse for what they did.
