Zanchi In Brain-Scare
04/12/2003.
Bologna defender Marco Zanchi has underwent emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain.

The 25-year-old was rushed to hospital late on Friday night and it is yet unclear whether he was conscious at the time. Only after 36 hours will the doctors be able to make a reliable prognosis report.

A blood clot at 25? Oh dear... :scared:

Let's hope he recovers fast!
Blood clots do not ususally descriminate by age, they are generally a result of trauma, like repeated blows to the head.

as far as a brain operation goes, its not major. however, how long was he out for, and what content of oxygen did he lose......that could leave a person with brain damage.

and i heard it resulted in a stroke as well.......

it could be very serious, and i doubt he'll be playing football soon.....actually, wouldnt surprise me if he never did again.

something like this is serious.
