As a short term solution I would love to have him back. He was my hero and even though he disappointed me big time I still love him, have nice memories of him and can´t possibly be mad at him.

AC MILAN, Confident over homesick Zambrotta

AC Milan could welcome Barcelona fullback Gianluca Zambrotta back to Italy in January. However, it's emerged that Zambrotta's wife, Valentina, is desperately homesick and wants to return to Italy as soon as possible. Milan are monitoring developments and are confident they're the only genuine option for Zambrotta should Barca be prepared to sell.

Zambrotta To Milan In January?

Barcelona full-back Gianluca Zambrotta is being linked with a January switch to AC Milan.

The 30-year-old signed for the Spanish giants last summer from Juventus following the Calciopoli crisis.

However Zambrotta’s wife, Valentina, is said to have become increasingly homesick and is desperate to move back to Italy as soon as possible.

Zambrotta, who has never really shone at Camp Nou, is now ready to accede to her demands, with Milan ready to offer an exit route.

The versatile defender, who started his career as a forward, before dropping back into midfield and then defence while at Juventus, is currently preparing for Italy’s crunch Euro 2008 qualifier with Scotland later today.

Zambrotta is set to play at full-back after recovering from a minor injury. The former Bari man is due to win his 68th cap, having made his debut in a friendly against Norway in 1999.

The star has played at the European Championships of 2000 and 2004, and the World Cups of 2002 and 2006, the latter of which he has a winners medal from.

can you give me more info of this guy?

Full name - Jérémy Mathieu
Date of birth - October 29, 1983

He`s curently playing for Toulouse and many clubs wanted him this summer.Roma was closest to sign him but they were asking too much so they said they`ll wait for summer when his contract expires and buy him for free.Even tho he`s tall guy(189) he`s very fast and has powerful shot.

it was his run by the left and he scored that goal.

I dont think Mathieu would be a good buy for Juve...especially those who dont like attack minded fullbacks..the guy is good and i personally rate him..but to be honest he is too attack minded for a team like Juve..he leaves way too much space behind..and at times his defending can be erratic.

Our dream for LB according to tuttosport is Lahm.Well thats true,we can only dream about it. :D

EDIT:Here`s the whole article...

Giorgio Chiellini movement in the middle of defense, has left the left side of defensive line of Juventus partially empty, with Molinaro only able to provide suitable security.
For this reason bianconero club is looking for a reinforcement for that position: the first name is that of Manuel Pasqual, at the third season in Fiorentina. Juventus already tried in the past to engage the player before Viola, but now they have changed club's executives and especially the relationship between the two companies; negotiations could be more possible.
The dream, however, is called Philip Lahm, the 24 year old player of Bayern, exploded during World Germany Cup; the young player has already made understand, that he want to change air at the end of season, but there will be to defeat Barcelona competition.

I don't think Bayern will sell him. I heard that some fans are sick of Schweinsteiger's performances lately. He'd be nice for the left side of the mid.

Zambrotta: I swear, Juventino even in Serie B.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Resto in bianconero anche in serie B"
26/05/2006 15:15

Pur dicendosi lusingato, Zambrotta punta a restare in bianconero. "Ho sentito le voci dell'interessamento del Real e del Barcellona, ed è chiaro che mi faccia piacere, ma valuterò insieme alla Juventus, con cui ho un contratto fino al 2010. Non mi spaventa affatto l'ipotesi della serie B, sarei pronto a rimanere anche in caso di retrocessione".
