I agree with the others who said that he should not have been critisized. As far as I am concerned he gave his heart and soul to the club and I could not have asked for more.

Additionally he did not say anything bad about Del Piero, he just stated that he had no beef with Capello. Is that so bad?! Zambrotta was one of Juve's best and I wish him luck wherever he goes because he is going to serve his club well.

About Balzaretti though, I'm unsure about drawing the conclusion of him staying making him a better person than Zambro was. From the perspective of a relative newcomer to the team, the relegation and mass exodus represents far more of an opportunity for Balzaretti to shine, whereas Zambrotta had alot more at stake. Its therefore unsurprising that many of our fringe players have opted to stay now that they relish the prospect to break into the first team unhindered by the bigger names on the roster, now gone to greener pastures. I'm not disagreeing with you on this point, just that it seems a tad hasty to draw a conclusion like that TBH. Cheers.

Oh sure I see where you're coming from. There is no doubt in my mind that the likes of Balzaretti and Chiellini have stayed to make the most of this opportunity. But it's hard to overlook the fact that the big names not being there is a double edged sword. Yes, it could mean Juventus is on the resume, but it could also mean Serie B for a few more years, which in turn could mean being undone with regards to the Nazionale. Coming back to the Zambrotta issue, like I said above, everybody is justified for leaving. Including Gianluca. I'm not as angry about the fact that he left - as I am about how fast he did and where he wanted to go to. Nothing he could say or do would make things better and just when you'd think he'd hold back he came out and spoke of betrayal. That's just in poor taste. And it all gets harder because he's been the mainstay of the team for a better part of the last decade. Not easy to digest - but then again, I think that's something we all know. :pint:

I think anyone who slams a player like Zambrotta, Thuram, or even a coach like Capello for leaving their "beloved" Juve is off their rocker.

These people are making decisions for their career. I'm sorry, but staying in Serie B when you can move to the European champions is NOT a good career move. People like Del Piero and Nedved have only stayed because they are at the end of their career. Do you think if they were younger, or near the prime of their career, they would accept a move to a lower division. Sorry, but no.

Zambrotta is one of the greatest to wear the Juve shirt of the last few years, the years when most of us have watched the team, and he should ALWAYS be remembered for that, no matter where he goes or how he plays from here on out.

i don't really see what the problem is. in the thread-title zambrotta is just quoted wrong. he didn't said 'juve betrayed me', he said

Black&White. said:
I feel betrayed by the former directors.
which is a difference. what's wrong with this quote?

nobody betrayed any1...obviously we juventinos would have loved for zambro to stay but it was unlikely...juve made money off of him and he will be playing in the champs lge..end of discussion

Del Piero is younger than Cannavaro.

There's a substantial difference in substance between these guys, I'm sorry. DP is in a league of his own, I'm afraid (and I dont just mean serie b:lol: ). Loyalty and honour mean more than career. Lets face it, wherever Zambro and Canna stayed these players were still going to be on mega-bucks. I understand that their careers in the immediate future meant more to them but lets not knock the loyalty of our remaining heroes. Over the past couple of years, DP has had more reason than most to pack up and go. He hasn't and thats not because nobody would have taken him, is it?
