There Have been many games which we will allways remember. Some were out of this world and others we would rather not remember. Then there is a certain type of game which will allways be remembered as a Classic:

1986 France : Brazil
1986 Argentina : England
1982 Italy : Federal Republic of Germany
1982 Italy : Brazil

these are just W.C matches, post your favorites here whether they are international or club.
My compliments to you for a very good thread

I WILL START WITH WC MATCHES

1982
Best match and probably the greatest match ever imo Brazil vs Italy
Italy go ahead with Rossi, think from a cross by Conti, then Zico completely turns Gentile inside out, passes to Socrates and from a tight angle nutmegs Zoff to make it 1-1
Rossi makes it 2-1 by shrugging off , i think it was luisinho and shoots to beat valdes Perez.
Just before halftime Zico has hit jersey ripped off by Gentile but the ref misses and obvious foul and maybe penalty
Falcao collects the ball feigns to shoot, dummying at least 4 Italian defenders and then unleashes an unstoppable shot past Zoff
Rossi this time from a corner scores his hattrick
Zoff stops an OOscar header on the goal line
Italy have a goal wrongly disallowed for offside when Antognioni scores
Final score 3-2 but what a game

France 3-West Germany 3
Goals from Platini Tresor and the immaculate Girese put France 3-1 with about 20 minutes to go then the Germans bring on karl Heinz Rummenigge and he completely changes the game by scoring one and making the play where Hrubesh, heads the ball down for Klaus Fischer to bicycle the ball in
But it will aslo be remembered for crime of the century that went unpunished when the imcomparable Platini sent one of his trademark defence splitting passes which Battiston latched unto only to be crudely assaulted by Harald Schumacher
West Germany went on to win on penalties but lost out to Italy in the end probably because they were too tired from this game

1986
Brazil vs France
Lots of thrills and spills with Platini equalising a great team goal by Brazil finished off by Careca
Zico came on to take a penalty in normal time but missed as that was his very first touch and again France were denied a penalty and keeper sending off like in 1982 when goal keeper Carlos clearly held back Bellon from a thru pass by Platini(again)
Spain vs Belgium
It does not sound like a game that should be memorable but believe me it was, it was not high scoring but the standard of play thruout was fantastic with Belgium winning on penalties
Belgium vs ussr
Belanov scores a hatrick and still neds up on the losing side
But the tournament was all about Maradona

1990
England vsW Germany
This was probably the best match of the tournament with Germany coming out winners on penalties but England totally dominating
W.Germany vs Holland
This was probably the best or second best game with a virtuoso performance from Klinsmann the highlight

Italy were the best team but unfortunately lost on pens to Argentina who were probably the worst

1994
Best game for me was
Argentina vs Romania
Fantastic game , great goals, attack versus counter attack and if Maradona was not sent home for drugs, i think Argentina would have won it that year
They had in their team at the same time, Simeone, Maradona, Canniggia, Batigol,Balbo and Redondo with a surprisingly good Chamot at the back
Romania eventually won by 3-2 with the winning goal coming from , i think Dumitrescu
Brazil vs Holland
Great game with some cracking goals and memorable for the introduction of the rocking cradle celebraltion by Bebeto

1998
No stand out games for me
2002
ditto

Games involving Juve recently

Juventus 3 Forentina 2
Juve under Lippi, were playing very well but Fiorentina went into a 2 goal lead, i think Biano scored one of the goals with Batigol suspended, then Juve made a comeback in the second half with Vialli scoring the 2 goals to equalise and a breathtaking winner by Del Piero to win it for us
Ajax vs Juventus in Cl both legs
This heralded the birth of Amoruso and Vieri as bonafide Juve players with Vieri going onto great teams and also intoduced the world to a new superstar in Zinedine Zidane as he completely ran the show

Juve vs Monaco
Well some might say the game that spelt the beginning of the end for Del Piero as he was untouchable in that game, everything was gold, scoring a hattrick and you might call it like a muscian who has made his best album, no way but downhill from there on
to be continued

Well maybe but i was going by memory, not thru internet links and my memory is going somewhat

    Other classic matches are
    Napoli 2 Milan 3
This was meant to be championship decider in the 1987/88 season and Napoli had blown a big lead in the championships, though some are saying it was kinda suspicious
Anyways Van Basten and Virdis were among the scores for Milan with Gullit being very influential and Maradona scoring a wonderful free kick

    Inter 0 Sampdoria 2 1990/91
This was another championship decider with Inter having to win to prolong the race and after a tedious first half with highlights being Klinsmann's dissallowed goal for a very dubious offside and Mancini and Bergomi been sent off.
The second half was something else with Inter attacking like mad especially Mattheus, but outta the blue Samp score thru Dossena(whatever became of him), Inter piling forwards and shooting from every angle but Pagiluca with one of the greatest goalkeeping displays ever just kept them at bay with every part of his anatomy even saving a penalty from Mattheus until Samp broke away and Vialli cooly finishing to make it 2-0 in an absolutely enthralling game

    Lazio4 Milan 4
The one thing i do remember is Sheva scoring a hat tirick but it was end to end stuff

    Premiership
    Liverpool4 Newcastle3
Liverpool take the lead with Fowler, Newcastle equalise with Ferdinand, Fowler puts Liverpool 2-1 ahead, Ginola flicks the ball to asprilla and he buries it, Collymore makes it 3-2. someone cannot remember whom makes it 3-3 and in the last seconds of an absorbing game Collymore scores to break Keegans heart

ok yto you guys this will mean shit all but here goes.

two years ago my team hearts were playing a derby against our big rivals hibs (one of the oldest derbys in world football by the way first played in 1875) anyway in the 90th minute of a cracking game hibs got a penalty to go 4-2 up.in a last throw of the dice our manager had threw on a young guy caled graham weir who had only played a couple of games for us and he manages to score a double in injury time to level the game at 4-4,fantastic
