He is, and his form has never recovered. He played for Ireland in the World Cup in Korea/Japan, and was substituted in all 4 of our games - several times at half time! He even missed a penalty.

He returned to a Leeds in disarray, and his form, while not quite as bad as it was, is still poor, and Manchester United's John O'Shea has taken the left-back role in the NT, dispite being in poor form himself. His free-kicks have dried up completely. I guess he just needs a move out of Leeds, but I don't know if a Premiership team will want him now.

If we're using retired players, surely Pele, Maradonna, Cruijff, Zico, Garrincha, Di Stefano, Puskas, Platini, etc would make the team.

naturally, actually van basten shouldnt be on that team. i just couldnt came up with other striker that was would be my personal fav.
as for schmeichel and deschamps, they are in my all time fav list. actually my team sucks, i cant form a decent team with players i like, because they are mostly def mids and attcking players a la zizou/del piero.
