Yahoo Groups (1 Viewer)

I have opened a Yahoo Groups thingy for my classmates from school, unfortunately, most of them are too lazy to register (I was told that point blank on phone).
Does anyone know of a way I can create a mailing list (maybe by just sending a mail to one address) so I'll be able to mail up to 112 people at the same time?

If you select that contact from your address book, it should send to all those addresses. It'll depend on the niceties of your email provider, so test it with two or three of your own addresses first.

Now, the stuff outside of the <> tags doesn't mean anything - it's a label for your sake. The email programme sees this as "Send an email to [email protected] and [email protected]". You can even delete the stuff outside the <> tags without changing what happens.

So, what happens if you happen to send to these two all the time? You can keep clicking the two emails on your address book, or you can define a new email contact:

Now when you select "My Friends" off your address book, the email's "To" field will look like:

You just have to remember not to have an opening bracket < at the start of the first email address and not to have a closing one > at the end of that last address. Otherwise, you can have as many addresses in there as you like.

Hang on - yahoo has an add list option. Just create a list, then add email contacts to it. Then you can just email the list. It's the same principle.

That's the boring part...

It doesn't let you send a single mail to more than 50 at the same time, and we had 112 in my graduating class (University of Benin Engineering 2003)...

google has something similar. my dept uses it to send mass emails.

Ah. It works in gmail, but not with Yahoo. The useless sods check to see if you've entered a valid single email address.
