I've read this 5 times, and I have no idea what the fuck you are asking.

This isn't the telephone or Skype, Cam. No need for stream of consciousness type posts here.

Breath, relax.
Does it make sense to use our budget on one star player to appease the masses here or continue strengthening our bench when we already have a strong starting 11 waiting for an opportunity like llorente or Vidal?

Appease the masses ? Its a necessity goddamit. Our core is strong but its painfully obvious whats missing in our armory to make a better impact in Europe.

When an opportunity like Shaqiri for example presents itself, you take it rather than wasting the money on mediocre Serie A players.

Why is this so hard to understand ?

How many people have seen Shaqiri play? None?
I think enough have seen him play at the world cup at least. Though I'm not convinced he is the man for us, he is somewhat very jekyll and hyde, either terrible and frustrating to watch, or brilliant. Right now if the rumours are true about Isco being possibly available then he is a no brainer right now and ought to be our next prime target.

It's not hard to understand, at all. I want a player like this as much as you do but we (the club) can't spend 35m on one player like Sanchez with the salary he wants. It isn't in our business model and people can't seen to understand that at all. We are still working on improving our finances and our club has made absolutely no secret about that either. They have been honest from day one about what their goals are and their timelines.

Shaqiri for 20m would be an absolute great signing and that would leave us 15m richer than what Sanchez would have left us.

Who spoke about Sanchez ? I am talking about players we can sign within our limited means.Shaqiri is an opportunity and we should take it by all means.

But, Isco is nearly impossible for us?

I brought him up, not you. I don't know if you were one of the people bitching about not signing Sanchez or not, but my point is we simply can't spend that kind of money and players like that don't come cheaply very often. Yes, we need to act quickly if Shaqiri is in fact on the market and in that cost range. My point is, sometimes its better to build other portions of your team until other opportunities present themselves. If this is true then we need to act quickly, if it isn't and there are not players like that available then we should be strengthening the team in other areas. We have money to spend this summer, so one way or another we will make the team better be it the bench or a starting player like Shaqiri.

how so?

We have an excellent relationship with real madrid, I'm sure we can persuade them to another deal similar to Morata, for me he is more attainable than say Pastore or Lavezzi even. Isco will be left to rot once Rodriguez arrives, only seems logical to me that for someone who barely had first team football last season will get even less this season

Star signings shouldn't be meant to appease the masses. Milan and their "gifts" every year put them at mid table this season, and those gifts ended up being sold away.

All depends on what you mean by a "star signing". There are different types. 3 actually.

Type A- The established star, the ones who are consistently on the radar. The Suarez' of the world, so to speak. Juve can't afford those, and even if they could, the wage alone would kill the structure. So let's forget about those.

Type B- Those who are "bubbling under" so to speak. Players that people know about due to following certain leagues, or have recently been turned on to due to recent performances, such as a Sanchez so to speak. They are the ones in that middle range for upper echelon players (The 35- 40 million, with the 5-6 million salary) These types of players, could feasibly be done, but you run the risk of a team like Juve, whose big revenue streams won't be coming until next year and beyond (As at least several people on this forum have stated to begin with once the new stadium was completed, and the debt service for the costs of the construction of the stadium and the exor loans are significantly reduced) of putting all your eggs in one basket. If he flops, not only do you have a player on your hands who is not worth what your paid for, but you were also unable to fill other areas of need.

Look, even the richest teams out there do not simply buy one player in the transfer window.

Type C- The Max Meyers of the world. Those hardcore types of fans who know about kids such as these before even the players' friends do. The 12-18 million euro purchases that you hope will turn out to be much more than that in the coming years. Shaqiri, for example, is somewhere between a Type B and Type C type of star player.

THOSE are the types of kids that I would like to see Juve grab. The Shaquiri B/C type

And in that regard, I would like to see that type of player be the one who can strengthen our Starting XI.

I hope it makes sense. I'm swamped at work right now so I probably didn't take as much time explaining it as well as I could. Now that I look at what I've done, I'm not even sure if I understand it.

He'll have plenty of suitors with better financial resources than us

Dont put words into my mouth now.I never even mentioned his name because i knew his signing is nearly impossible. You're referring to the wrong person unfortunately.

If we had cash in store for Iturbe, then by all means use that cash for Shaqiri.

Shaqiri is an interesting player, but nothing more. Won't be the offensive game changer that this Juventus team is in need of.
