Hey guys how much are liverpool asking for him? Because we increased our bid today to 20.5 million as you all know, so I wondering didnt we have an agreement with pool over a fee?
If we increased our offer then we probably didn`t have an agreement over a fee it`s the most logical thing no?!

Now seriously no we didn`t have an agreement with Liverpool but it was being said that we agreed terms with Xabi but I actually not quite sure it`s true

don`t worry it`s just a matter of time untill we get Alonso and Liverpool get Barry

A little more on the Barry connexion:-

Villa fans received the worst news they could have hoped for when Barry recently announced that he is desperate to join Liverpool.

The England midfielder rubbed salt into the wound by accusing the club of dismissing his requests, even claiming that manager Martin O’Neill has neglected him entirely while the Reds have been circling.

O’Neill hit back via the club’s official website, insisting he and the directors had made every attempt to lure their skipper into staying at Villa Park.

Regardless, such developments have led to speculation that the Villans will be forced to lower their asking price now that Barry has gone public with his desire to shoot off to Merseyside.

O’Neill and co had been demanding ₤18million for the 27-year-old; a price they feel matches the going rate for similar players, such as Manchester United duo Michael Carrick and Owen Hargreaves (both around ₤17million).

Liverpool have offered ₤13million thus far, and it is expected Rafa Benitez will resubmit this figure as a final 'take it or leave it’ bid now that communications between Barry and his bosses have deteriorated so openly.

But O’Neill will not back down, meaning Benitez will either have to find another ₤5million – most likely through the sale of Xabi Alonso to Juventus – or start looking elsewhere.

they celebrates what at 4th july???

You've got to be kidding...

Signing a midfielder has proved difficult and illusive for the Bianconeri so far this season and they have been pursuing several potential players including Xabi Alonso of Liverpool, Roma’s Alberto Aquilani, Inter midfielder Dejan Stankovic as well as Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger.

However, no deal has been struck just yet and it is unlikely to be until next week as Juve chief executive Jean Claude Blanc is away on holiday.

Gigli is keeping quiet over who the new player will be and he reveals he will say more next week as the club continues to play the waiting game.

“Within a week or 10 days at the most we will announce the new signing,” Gigli told Mediaset.

“There are several players that Blanc is looking at and he is considering one of them.

“However, at the moment he is on holiday but he should be back within the next few days. However, Blanc always surprises me.”

Reports in Italy claim that it is likely to be Xabi Alonso who signs for Juventus.

However, it could, in theory, be anyone of the Old Lady’s targets who puts pen to paper next week.

Straight from goal.com, If its true, then I guess we have a little over a week to find out. With the way things are going, I'm feelin pretty confident that were gonna see Xabi in a bianconeri jersey in due time my friends...

Hi slayback

I gave up we will sign Xabi. If we really wanted we would have bought him. We will get Stankovic and our transfer would be closed except for selling of players. Our summer transfer campaign was a flop one like last year. We are buying low quality players like Mellberg, Gyrgera, Molinaro, Tiago, Almiron, Knezevic etc.

What do you say?

blanc is not on holiday, he is busy chasing xabi round the Bahamas in a speed boat, waving a contract frantically in the air. The boat is pulling a pyrimid of jazz players water skiing behind whilst they play some theme tune from miami vice. Holiday? I think not

They are proffesionals and there is a reason why the deal is not sealed yet
Liverpool want more money for Xabi and as a negotiator you can`t just give the money they want and seal the deal, you try to lower the price so you could get what you want with the lowest cost you think you can have him

Liverpool did not back down from their demands and we still got time untill the end of the transfer window therefore there is no need to rush

at the end Xabi would come here (unless Blanc and Secco have second thoughts about their man...)

The last article says that Blanc should sign someone in a week or ten days which means there might be an agreement or something close to it with eigther Xabi Alonso which is the more possible option OR there is a bit of a surprise with Aquilani not getting the contract he wants and Roma therefore realease him and get a large sum of money

possability number 1 makes more sense ofcourse

But why other teams sign the players they want immediately? Inter wanted Lampard and they signed hom today. Milan wanted Zambrotta and they signed him long ago. Chelsea wanted Deco and they signed him. But we not. So it means that our managers are not professionals in negotiations. And we didnt go for Deco? we need a creative player not a destructive like Xabi. And we didnt buy a star defender. we will still play with stupid Molinaro and low quality Legro and Gyrgera. We remained a mid-table position as Nedved, Del Piero and Treze
have another one year on them and this will leave its impact.

Well I heard Lampard is not official yet but it`s because he wants to leave and Chelsea do not have a choice but to let him go

Milan signed an unwanted Zambrotta Chelsea signed an unwwanted Deco and we want to sign a player who Liverpool are only wanting to sell in order to raise cash for someone else (Barry) that means they need lots of money and therefore insist on their high price for Xabi (who does not want to leave he is more pushed out than want out...)

BTW Inter is not a good example as they are the Real Madrid of Italy splashing cash without really negotiating
Chelsea has Roman Abramovic who has so much money that he doesn`t care if he has a few millions less

We are Juventus a team that work in order to find success and financial profit (more than the last three clubs mentioned...)

Tiago was by no means a low quality player before we signed him. his performances here have just not been up to our expectations. Molinero was a youth product of ours who was give his chance after playing well at Siena.

I would not call Mellberg and Grygera low quality players seeing how they are established internationals who were only ment to add depth to our squad and were signed for free.

Also we have signed players who most people would describe as high quality. Sissoko is a fantastic midfielder who played very well at Valencia and Liverpool when he was in the team and was in demand before he was dropped by Rafa.

Amauri is a very high quality striker and was linked with Madrid and Milan .. yet we spent big and got him. I think he will do very well for us this season.

We got Iaquinta last summer. He is a pretty high quality forward as well. I would not say as good as Dp, Trez or Amauri but still very good. He is a hard worker and very strong. People forget Barca were trying very hard to get him at one point and he is a world cup winner.

Andrade despite his injuries is also very good and hopefully he will return to show us just what he can do for us in defense. I think if all players are fit he would be selected above everyone to partner Chiellini in Defense. He was a star player at Porto, Deportivo and for his national team ( I think he was even the captain at one point before he had all his injury problems and lost his place).

Sure not all of our signings are superstars but I think we do get our share of quality players and I think we are doing better than last year. Also take into consideration how badly Tiago and Almiron's form changed in the year they joined us.
