Alonso sends Aquilani to Juve?
Saturday 21 June, 2008

If Liverpool continue to raise Xabi Alonso’s price-tag, Juventus could switch their interest to Alberto Aquilani or Arda Turan.

Xabi Alonso has made it abundantly clear he wishes to join the Bianconeri and according to reports has already signed a pre-contract agreement.

However, until the two clubs strike a deal that document is worthless and every day the papers in Italy point out a new problem.

Liverpool are allegedly trying to raise the price-tag for the Spanish midfielder beyond the £13.4m mark.

Juventus are becoming increasingly irritated at the tactic and could turn their attentions elsewhere.

“After signing Amauri and Olof Mellberg, the return of youngsters Claudio Marchisio, Sebastian Giovinco and Paolo De Ceglie and Pavel Nedved’s renewal, the priority is to find a quality midfielder,” confirmed general manager Jean-Claude Blanc.

“There aren’t many around that fit the bill and so we must talk first to the clubs and then to the players.

“We are maintaining a few parallel negotiations and at the end will make the best decision in both technical and economic terms.

“Aquilani, Dejan Stankovic or Xabi Alonso? We are tracking more than three. As is our style, we only talk at the end of the move, as doing so before hand only serves to raise the fans’ hopes and the players’ price-tag.”

According to Tuttosport, Juventus are turning their attention back towards Aquilani, who is not entirely happy with the contract renewal offered to him by Roma.

The Italian international is also a prime target for Inter, so they face stiff competition.

Another alternative has emerged during Euro 2008, as Turkish midfield maestro Arda Turan impressed to get them to the semi-final.

Nicknamed 'the Turkish Cristiano Ronaldo,’ Arda would be available from Galatasaray for just £4m plus Sergio Almiron.

Ernesto Bronzetti(mercato consultant for Real, Milan and Barca): "X. Alonso won't go to Juve, I've told them not to buy him since Spaniards and Englishmen don't do well in Italy". <---something like that

Who the f*ck does he think he is?

- That's the same guy that said for 3½ years that Ronaldino would sign for Milan.
- Real don't want Buffon but knows he'll go to Milan(last year and the year before).
- Same guy who brought José Mari, Moreno...to Italy.(no wonder why Spaniards don't play well in Italy).

...

They're scared! They know X. Alonso will make us much better and are pissing in their pants.

FORZA XABI, FORZA JUVE!

ideal situation would be italy beating spain with a terrible performance by xabi alonso, preferably on own-goal of him. this would lower his market-value considerably and he would arrive at juve as a fan's favourite already.

don't think that goes that easily... One game does not decide the market value of a player. The fact that he's no starter (and not even a 1st choice sub) is enough for us to be able to deal with them. Then again, it won't fail because of 2 or 3 millions. It's just a matter of principles imo and we'll soon see a result. It's not like the C Ronaldo-Deal. With us it's completely different, we want to buy, they want to sell (and they're not even negating it) so an agreement can be found.
