Juve To Announce Xabi Alonso Signing Today?

Juventus have been particularly busy in the transfer market and after being linked to various midfielders, Xabi Alonso seems the high profile player who the Old Lady need to increase their Scudetto and Champions League aspirations.

Serie A will be hoping that this is one of the first main transfers coming from abroad as in the last few years the Italian top flight has been in decline in terms of big players coming over to play, and this was highlighted by Deliotte's annual report of the profits made by the different football leagues.

Serie A in fact finished 4th, behind the Premier League, Bundesliga and Liga respectively, with the English league having a profit double that of Italy.

Trust me man, English football dickriders will never change, so let them triple as much profit as Serie A but I'll always prefer the style and passion in Serie A. :proud: :)

medicals are important though in the signing, and you NEED to pass them. Milito wasn't signed by Madrid because he failed a medical.

maybe and maybe Gareth Barry suddenly gets some vicious sexually transmitted disease, transfer to L'pool fails and we end up with Marcos Senna or Clemens Fritz....
VILLA HAPPY TO SIT AND WAIT

Aston Villa have told Liverpool they are under no pressure to sell skipper Gareth Barry until the price is right which will be in the region of at least £18million.

Villa boss Martin O'Neill has no need to offload the England midfielder on the cheap because it is understood the deal will have no bearing on his own spending power during the summer.

O'Neill, currently working as a TV pundit at the Euro 2008 finals, is believed to be aware of the funds he has at his disposal from club owner Randy Lerner.

Reds manager Rafael Benitez has already had three bids rejected by Villa for 27-year-old Barry.

And, while it appears inevitable that Barry will move to Anfield, O'Neill will not give the green light until his value of the player is met by Benitez.

A source close to Villa said: "The sale of Barry will have no effect on the plans Martin O'Neill has in place for the summer. Any deal for Barry will be on his and Villa's terms."

Benitez is expected to make a fourth offer during the coming week for Barry.

The expected sale of Xabi Alonso to Juventus for a reported £14million may pave the way for what Villa will regard as a more realistic offer for Barry who has been at Villa for 10 years.

The deal is done, but they can't complete it without his signing+medical.
so i guess only after the Euro...
Or he will fly to Turin someday now beetwen his games...
Well If Romania qualifies it could take some time untill Xabi flies to Turin and signs
If Italy or France qualifies then I guess it would take 2 or 3 days (after the Spain - Italy/France game)

funny thing is, knowing spain's ability to play well yet go nowhere in tournaments, he could be in turin after the quarters......even if it's spain romania.
