Juve cool Xabi interest
There are reports that Juventus have called off their attempt to sign Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso. It has been suggested that the Anfield outfit are demanding at least £16m for the Spanish international, which is a fee the Old Lady can’t match. The Bianconeri may now turn to former Udinese star Sulley Muntari, who is currently at Portsmouth and is expected to command around £7m.

yeah i think Italian football will suite him really well, he will be given more time and space to make his long range passes. I think he will be our Pirlo.

I think the real problem is Liverpool havent managed to sign Barry yet. Alonso to Juve will be on hold, until Liverpool get Barry.

I think our offer for liverpool is fair enough, benitez is being greedy here. Liverpool got mascherano for 18 mil pounds (thats 5 million euros more than our offer for alonso) and mascherano is like 3 years younger and IMO a bitter player all around....Liverpool wants to sell alonso anyways this summer and i don't c many interest for the player (specially from spain).

:agree:

Villa rejected a £15m bid for Barry last night.

When will people realise than negotiations take time. Unless you are like Real or Chelsea and are quite happy to overpay for players, it inevitably takes a while to negotiate.

And if Real were seriously interested, they would have made some sort of move already.

Real are probably waiting for the Ronaldo situation.True, they arent similar players by any means, but maybe they'll shift to Alonso if Ronaldo's stay at Old Trafford is 100% confirmed.I wont rule out a Madrid move for Alonso yet.
