And Xabi is also supposed to be OFFICIAL on Tuesday by those sources, right?
yeah but don't bet on it.

When those f*ckers(Cobolli-Blanc-Secco-Ranieri) say something they say the truth most of the time.

I still think we have a shot though. Barry will join Liverpool and if the demand is reasonable we should take him.

It seems that Our management dosen't have a clue about strategy. I remember when they bought Sissoko they said it's a long term acquirement, I said to myself , great The BOD are preparing a strategic plan for juventus : Juventus among the best in europe. I believe that the sissoko and amauri deals were a good start to our transfer compaign : Sissoko and Amauri recently demonstrated how good these players are. We have such depth in the attacking zone and let's say the same thing about our defence ( Even if we don't have a very good CB-Except Chiellini who was a surprise at that departement- nor a good Fullback...). When it comes to buy a good player like Xabi who is IMO essential to our style of play they're don't want to pay the price requested. Knowing that this same BOD brought in last year too flops and unecessary players ( Almiron and Tiago). The gap is just 2 Millions I think ? What the hell are they trying to do here ?

If we do miss out on Xabi we should put in an official 5 million Euro bid for Gerrard just for the hell of it...

I wonder what people would say
I wonder what Rafa would think if we bid on Barry to piss him off.

Anyways, does anyone know the source of the article (if there is one) on goal.com that says Poulson has confirmed he will be a Bianconeri next season? The article starts with:
Christian Poulsen has confirmed that he will play his football in Turin next season
Like usual, the stupid site doesnt quote when, where, or how it was confirmed. Also, where is all the talk coming from that we are going to sign two midfielders? Is this just more from the "insiders" at vecchiasignora.com or was some hints dropped by the board about it?

Thats what has sucked the most to me imo - that we r refusing to get a WORLD CLASS guy coz of a 3-4 million differnece
I dont think that's the only problem, I also think that :
-Xabi is happy at Liver and doesnt want to move to a different club/league
-Liver doest want to sell Xabi unless they seal Barry's deal
-Secco and Gigli suck

Ease up guys. All that is happening is everyone is waiting for the price to go up, that's all. I have faith that this deal will go through. The thing about "only 3 - 4 mil. difference," is that if you don't have them, you can't make the deal - no matter how small the difference. I am not saying we don't have them, but its possible we are waiting for approval to raise the budget by the BOD. That is, sadly, how business is run. Bottom line: we have no clue what is going on behind the scenes, and unless there is one of the executives saying: "we no longer pursue Alonso" let's sit tight and wait. Its been said a million times, but for emphasis: he's on vacation anyway, and wouldn't be available yet (just like the rest of Euro guys). So let's all chill out, not pay attention to Goal.com, and just listen to Mark...hehe he seems to know what's going on - let him do your news hunting for you.

ARSENAL have made a sensational 11th-hour move to hijack Gareth Barry’s move to Liverpool.

The Mersey giants were locked in high-level talks with Aston Villa all day yesterday, as they haggled over the price for the Midlanders’ captain.

But Gunners boss Arsene Wenger declared his own interest in midweek and Arsenal officials have contacted Villa to find out the latest position.

While no official bid has been lodged, the Gunners are prepared to offer cash plus a fringe player like defender Justin Hoyte.

Wenger would be able to increase his bid if Emmanuel Adebayor and Alex Hleb were to be sold, as they could bring in around £45m between them.

He has long admired Barry and, having lost Mathieu Flamini to AC Milan and with Gilberto heading for Panathinaikos, has decided to act.

Villa are holding out for £18m cash. If Arsenal agreed a deal, Barry would become their record buy.

Liverpool do not want to go higher than £15m cash plus add-ons, which would take the eventual fee to £17m.

this could be a good thing. Negotiations have been stalling in all deals (barry to pool, alonso to juve) and some pressure might just make the whole thing go on again. Maybe pool will wake up and try to monetize alonso as soon as possible and that's where we are coming in...
Let's hope for the best. Alonso is still on vacation if i remember correctly, so that's why possibly no news are coming. Tuesday should be the D-Day (supposedly for both Poulsen and Alonso even though poulsen seems to be already half-official; probably medicals on monday and then announcement on tuesday alongside alonso??!! :))
