Not that I want to be annoying, but you could argue they had.
You could argue for either point. But with their government printing out so much money to repay WWI reparations, causing hyperinflation in the goods market, they were in really bad shape if you ask me.

Hmm.. anyway, it's besides the original point of this thread. I don't remember the name of the guy who started the thread, but boy did he make an ass out of himself. What an idiot.

I don't think anyone who's semi-intelligent would disagree with the opinion that resources might be an important factor if there ever is such a thing as WWIII.

It's the sort of person who doesn't understand economics but trusts politicians.

So many politicians are out there claiming they will solve the supposed "energy crisis" when they can't even solve a crossword puzzle. I mean, the fact that some people put their entire faith in politicians, their entire existence in the hands of politicians, is beyond me. Even I understand the limitations of Obama and disagree with some of his useless appointees.

Can Obama solve the energy problem? Absolutely not.

War is easier than changing an entire economy.

he's a tool, Andy, you should give up the hope of him being able to save/fix America...and he may keep his word and pull out the troops from Iraq, but he is taking them elsewhere now...20,000 troops to be sent to Afghanistan

I never had hope that he could fix the country (too much to be fixed), but he has already improved world relationships without even setting foot in office yet. From what I have gathered from the man, I think he actually has a heart, unlike the slimy thieves of Bush and Cheney whose Presidency consisted of nothing more than the world's largest Ponzi Scheme. If worse comes to worse, and the country is on the brink of civil war, I think he would actually care about what he says and does.

But I'm disappointed with some of his appointments, especially for the Secretary of the Treasury, Tim Geitner. This guy is in the same clan of financial terrorists who caused some of these economic problems, so we are essentially putting one of the supposed 9/11 hijackers in to one of the most important jobs in the country.
