This debate has been done to death before and every time it turns out the same way.

You have the right-wing Americans who consider world politics like the mod panel on a forum, you just have to try every button out.

Then there's a bunch of "enlightened" people who always end up criticizing the USA and praising Iran and Islam more than anything else. Usually this group consists of Americans and Europeans.

Then you have a bunch of Iranians who instantly defend and romanticize Iran whenever someone accuses them. Usually, they live in exile and make the occasional trip back home, throwing their Western money around them. Alternative is that they live in Iran and do not wish to seem so miserable/do not feel miserable since they haven't been abroad that much and have little to compare with, so they get on internet forums and brag about their living situation and how wonderful Iran is.

And no one changes the opinion they have before entering the debate. Some from the second and third group hold hands and sing kumbaya.

Once again you have proven your lack of knowledge by making a "hip" comment about a subject you know nothing about.

I'm not a soldier. But I know many and my family are full of them. You really have no idea what being a soldier is about. You say "I would protect my country, if I was in trouble" and "blowing myself up would be better than not being free". Those are the statements of someone suffering from mild retardation. Soldiers sign up to protect their country no matter what. They don't chose their battles or where they go. They protect their country during the best of times and the worst of times, there are no sunshine patriots in there ranks. A soldier follows orders and does his job to the best of his ability and for that reason he is respected. If you must hate, then hate on the government there is no reason to pick on the soldiers especially when you know so little about what they do and what it is to be them.

I agree that Russia is not looking so great and that it's a pretty scary nation, but you might want to ask yourself if it's really such a smart move to install US artillery in the Czech Republic. Russia's not exactly the most stable country in the world.

What scares me the most though is that whereas Russia and the US were two superpowers with an established empire during the Cold War, they're both crumbling and insecure now. Anything could happen really.
