There were a lot of upsets in that tournament. The only problem I had with it was the time difference as someone already said.

Not crap, just my least favourite.

A large part of that was to do with the games being on quite early in the morning.

Brazil were the only good team in the whole competition.

2002 had some exciting matches and great football but it was marred by the shitty refereeing for S. Korea and Brazil winning. The US reaching the quarters was an added bonus. The time difference sucked

Loved 2006, it was what got me into following professional football. The US flopped which was disappointing but I really enjoyed almost everything about this tournament from the atmosphere to the matches. Nice to see the Azzurri win as well

Don't forget about the shitty refereeing in our own match against Germany. Frings hand-ball, red card and subsequent penalty would have probably got us that game. We weren't bad at all either.

Awful referring, not an interesting atmosphere, the timing for Europeans and Middle Eastern did bother me a lot and because I have not seen more than two good matches.

I saw some of '94 (I was only seven at the time) and have watched the vast majority of World Cup games since.

I don't remember particularly enjoying 2002, but '98 and 2006 were pretty good.

I like the Euro's more than World Cups as a general rule.

That's because Scotland are cack & never make it to the WC.

Italia 90 & USA 94 were hands down the best WC's i've had the honor of watching. So many legends, twists, turns & drama.

Awful referring, not an interesting atmosphere, the timing for Europeans and Middle Eastern did bother me a lot and because I have not seen more than two good matches.

I thought the atmosphere was amazing, better than that of Germany or France. The Koreans did a great job supporting their team and also the others. I didn't like the Korean team whatsoever but that must be respected.

And that was back when before we were starting to gain respect as a serious footballing nation. We could have and should have beaten those Germans.

USA 94 was probably the best indeed. That's what got me interested in European football.

2002 has nothing to do with Italy, eventhough I have a soft spot for the Azzurri. That was just the worst reffing display I have ever seen. The reffing was so bad that Tom Ovrebo is a saint compared to them. Also superstars forgot to showup for games.

I liked the 2002 World Cup. Sure, the time difference will kill you. But how's that different than the typical Sunday 7am Juve match for me anyway?

Actually, watching the 2002 Final live was a blast. I must have woken up around 2am to head over to my friend's place to watch the game at 3am. He answers the door, "So can I offer you beer... or coffee?" You couldn't tell at that hour what was appropriate.

And of course I watched it on Spanish television (Univision), where Coke even made an appropriate commercial for the experience:

Off to a bar in the middle of the night to watch a spectacularly tedious match.
