It was tricky. The Danish player was going for the ball and perhaps that's what saved him. But he did prevent a 100% goal and imo it should have been a red card. It's good that the Dane didn't shoot and score in the penalty shoot-out, because it would have created drama in an otherwise fair and well officiated WC.

Btw, for the younger folks here, those two middle aged guys they kept showing tonight were Peter Schmeichel (as you probably know) and Davor Suker, the all time top scorer of the Croatian NT.

It reminded me of a wonderful match and an epic duel between those two in 1996, filled with mutual respect.

A bunch of young guys everyone expected to go home early. I like underdogs, so I have nothing against them, unlike those overrated English teams and arrogant English fans expecting their overrated team to win the WC or the Euro.

least dislikeable team or not its the majority of fans who support them that will always make them dislikeable, as anti epl fans its in our best interest to see the national team do as badly as possible, it makes a mockery of the league we all love to hate.

Frankly it doesn't even bother me who wins this world cup just as long as it's not england, and I'll cheer on any player from Juventus in the meantime
