Your group isn't that hard Tom. Only the Swedes can giva ya some hard time. Other than that I see your team in the 2nd round or quarters....
2nd round or quarters.. come off it mate thats hardly a realistic assessment.. we're going to win it :D

But seriously surely you reckon we're better than a last 16 team!!

yeah i think brazils only weakness is their defence but having every1 attacking doesnt give any other team to attack unless on a fast break
I think that only ultra defensive side could oppose them.
Luca Toni is gonna be the guy to handle their defence.;)

its ok,its not your fault...i blame the parents;)
nah its not the english fans but the media who piss us off, every single tourny they write off the opposition and say england just need to turn up,i think errektions tactics and lack of leadership will be your undoing
Depends which sections of the media you read/watch. Personally I never read tabloids like the sun anyway. Read the telegraph and the times and you'll get proper, usually totally unbiased opinion on English Sport. BBC is pretty good as well, its main soccer pundit is scottish for a start!

I get your point though, the likes of the sun and the star just hype up the english team far too much. This time I firmly believe its different and we have a great chance to win it though.

I've got concerns over Eriksson too but the games against Poland and Argentina have re-ignited my belief in him to some degree. Doubts remain over his crisis management though.

The only team I really didn't want to face was England. I like England just as much as I support Sweden, and with a Swede as coach it's even worse. I really hope the last game will only decide the group winner.

in all fairness it shouldn't be hard for us to put away paraguay and t&t. Last match should be a formality :)

TBH hansen is more english than you:shocked:
he really seems to forget whach country he represents:frown:
agreed the higher end market of media does tend to be more realistic about englands chances but BBC are as nearly as bad as sky sports for delusions of grandeur

I think as Tom mentioned earlier it will be about form. Who will be on fire 6 months to date. Smaller teams have the work ethic & fitness which normally gives the bigger teams a headache. Sometimes it's just about the 1st goal and all crumbles. I shall wait & see.
Hej Zambrotta - Remember me? We talked a couple of times while I was in Stockholm. How is the going?

I certainly hope so. Trinidad & Tobago shouldn't be a threat, but Paraguay (although they don't seem get Santa Cruz) will pose a threat to both our teams. Such a technical and fast team is the worst type of opponent to both of us, and besides they're all very routined.

.
So where are these supposed articles that say we will win the world cup...

Ive seen loads that say we can win (which is true) I havent seen any that say we will win...

The odd interview with someones personal opinion maybe, but not an article in the british press that says we will win

Show me them i'd like to see them... Virtually every avenue of the british media at the moment struggle to see past brazil as winners...

This is also no different to the media in most other nations... The italian press is far beyond ours in overestimating their teams chances... The brazil and argentinian press almost see it as an insult to even question the possibility of their nation not winning...

Some of you should actually try reading other nations press... Its fairly obvious you are gonna read more about the england team if all you are reading is articles in the english language

Hej Ali, good to hear from you again. Are you back in Kenya now?

I guess I should hope Juventus doesn't go very far in this year's Champions league so we have a fresh Zlatan on the pitch.

Paul if you re-read my post all I said was that the Sun and the Star overhype the English national team. I didn't say anything about them stating "we will win the world cup" - its common knowledge they have always overhyped our national team and players.

Am back in Kenya but hoping to come to Sweden next summer.

If we win the CL am sure it will be a plus for Zlatan & will improve his performance at the WC.

Wasnt actually aimed at you, jus using your post as it was in reply to a similar claim... there are loads of these claims but ive never seen the articles they say are commonplace...

Overhyped... dont think so, we are much more critical of our team than most major footballing nations....
