Well we were fucking stupid agreeing to loan him out, getting shafted by Gala and then loaning him out AGAIN. But if we didn't act like pussies when selling players then there is no reason why we can't get decent prices for our decent players. We shouls be able to move Scudetto winning Italian Internationals on for reasonable fees. Then we re-invest that money on the squad.

You know... Like every other team has done hundreds of times.
Yes we should. But has that happened lately? No. I rest my case. :p

We sold Matri and Giaccherini for over 20M combined. So yes, it clearly has happened.

We couldn't sell Melo because he's an absolute head case that no one wanted.

I could be wrong, but wasn't Melo himself on pretty tasty wages?

That's the problem, the expensive players from the Secco 'era' mostly ended up flopping and were on some serious wages

So when you have players good enough for the likes of Lazio, but earning top wages then you're more or less screwed when it comes to moving them on.

The players who we should be looking to sell are not on wages that are going to put many clubs off.

i know... i read your post and even "replied" to that part.
how is this supposed to work? we train and play 352 all season long and when we get to the cl knochout stages we just switch to 433 and magically crush real, bayern and barca just because "hey, 433 is great in cl"?
not to mention that tevez will obviously be fine with getting benched for the most important games. oh and i guess the 433-wingers, who are (most likely) not suited to the 352, will also be fine with being benched all season long and then get thrown on against the top teams?
so i guess we will abondon 352 altogether?!
more information could be useful ^^. i don´t think i will become a fan but i want to make sure that i understood you correctly? :D
in the serie a we can play any formation as we have no competition. the best way is to switch 2 formations (3-5-2 and 4-3-3) to be more unpredictable. we already have players that are suited to the 3-5-2 and even for the 4-3-3 (except for wingers) so this summer if we get them we will obviously use these two formations.

now in the CL i would use 4-3-3 as our main formation (3-5-2 could be a surprise factor), CL (knock-out stage) is a whole different level than serie a so you need to have a strong bench (offensive players). every strong european side has a difference maker on the bench, and we need that too. tevez suits that role excellent. starting lw-llorente-rw and having tevez come of the bench is the best way to go in the CL late rounds because then you have quality starting11 and a strong bench to change something if things go wrong.

so in serie a rotate 2 formations (3-5-2, 4-3-3) and in CL use 4-3-3 and have the 3-5-2 as a backup plan.

Maybe we should just refuse to sell any of our dead weight, refuse to spend a single penny in transfers and hope that PDC & Co. can help us fight for a top 5 finish every year after Vidal, Pogba etc all leave for more ambitious clubs. Hopefully we can compete with Milan for the Kevin Constants and Bakaye Traores of the market.

Then, I think some people will finally be happy.

OK. We will get 35mil next summer for Vuci etc. I believe you. You guys can't be wrong, you know so much.
we arent getting that much for our players. we should have sold vucinic this summer when he still had some value but now that he barely plays (injury) hes value has fallen greatly. if we can sell him for 15M (we got him from roma for 15M when he was younger and better) that would be excellent

Not really liking your plan.

We won't get 15mil for Vuci. That's our problem, we never get more from a player than what we have payed to get him. Matri for example. :sergio:

we should grab any opportunity of selling players that we dont need (or include them in other deals) like pdc, padoin, ziegler (i think we still own him), motta (his contract runs out), any money that we get is good since the money we invested in them is low (pdc - nothing, ziegler - nothing, padoin 5M, motta 4M) so if we get 9M for them in total that would be enough.

as for other players we should offload there are vucinic (not less than 13M for him), quagliarella (not a must sell) and isla. isla will be hard to sell as we still owe udinese 9M so anything we get for isla will go like this (9M for udinese, and the rest for us) so selling him for less than 15M (so we get 6M) is not worth it.

I was one of Islas biggest critics but tbf he has shown some sines of real improvement. And considering he's fairly young and Licht probably has 2-3 years left at his current level I would personally keep Isla

Besides, the only team who have shown concrete interest in him is Inter, and i'd rather not sell him anybody not called Marco Motta.

Vucinic, whilst a quality player is getting older and too injury prone to make a real difference here. I would sell him.

The likes of PDC, Ziegler (If we do own him) etc should be sold for any reasonable price. I.E 6 figure sums.

But we do probably need to sell a defender, definitely if we switch to a back 4. And that's where we can make some money. The quality of individual CBs is pretty damn low across the World right now, so the likes of Bonucci should fetch us a useful sum of cash.

Why would we need to sell defender? I mean for a good fee Bonucci is out, he'll always be liability, but we'll need replacement for him as his potential sale will leave us with Chiellini, Barza and Ogbonna, too little for ambitious club looking to get results in 3 competitions; and Barzagli will be 32, Chiellini 30, so regardless, Juve pretty soon will have to add another defender to a roster.

If we keep with a back 3 then yes. But having 2 people for each position is good enough

Barzagli (Caceres) Chiellini (Ogbonna) for a back 4 is fine by me

If need be, we could have somebody like Sorensen as emergency depth. But, sticking to a back 3 means we should just keep Bonucci.

we dont need to sell any defender for a back4

lichtsteiner - barzagli - chiellini - asamoah
caceres - bonucci - ogbonna - peluso

isla is not needed if we are switching to a back four so the only other position he could play is backup CM.

Caceres is more comfortable playing as a fullback, but remains to be seen if he has what it takes to be a quality center back: let's hope he has. In this case Juve will need backup RB. Isla cannot play there, neither can Padoin and I'd hate it that an injury crisis, like we've seen lately to hit our rivals, reduces our chances for the silverware. Be it CB or FB we'll need an additional defender very soon, if Bonucci leaves even sooner.

Sometimes I wonder what's the point in discussing formations or who to buy/sell. I mean it's not like Conte or Marotta read this and even if they did why would they listen to us?
