The 3 man midfield I agree with, moving away from that whilst we still have MVPP would be stupid

But it's not like we have Ibra and Suarez upfront, if we have to sacrifice playing 2 upfront then so be it.

Not to mention the day we stop using wing-backs will be a day of drinking and celebrations for me.

can't Vidal play the CDM alongside BtB Pogba in 4-2-3-1?
Using our top goalscorer as an anchor in midfield doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.

So what do you offer? in order to play with 4 man defense and having both Tevez and Llorente, it's either 4-2-3-1 (Tevez behind Llorente) or 4-3-1-2 (we will get our ass kicked by any team with decent wings if we use that formation).

Now, name me a formation that uses a 3man central midfield, two central strikers, AND has place for pedro.
--Tevez - Llorente -------Pedro

Pogba --- Pirlo -- Vidal

Tevez doesn't need to play as a winger, give him a free role and also Pogba / Marchisio behind him the freedom to move wide when needed.

Release clause?

Negotiations for Muniain's contract renewal has stagnated, and reports are now suggesting that the Great Man will try to take advantage of the situation.

:beppe:

Contract runs out in 2015. Release clause is 38 million euros. According to reports, Llorente have urged the player to sign for Juve.

There have been reports for 2 years now that Beppe & co. are monitoring the player.

So you are saying that real madrid, who were extremely lucky against us, dont have decent wings ?

Well assuming we're talking about next Summer and not this moment in time, i'd happily go to 4-3-3 if one of our strikers aren't performing at a top level. At the end of the day, i'm not going to cry if Tevez or Llorente don't hold down a 1st team position after having something like 15 goal seasons or worse. (I'm not saying this will happen, but if it did)

If we get hold of 2 very good Wingers then we can prepare for life after Pirlo without smashing tens of millions on another Regista, and praying that they are even 1/5th as good as Pirlo. That doesn't seem logical to me at all. We NEED Pirlo so long as we have 2 wing-backs because he is our creative spark. 2 wingers/wide forwards sharing that creative burden between them could work well.

Most people agree that 3-5-2 has taken us as far as it can, so are Tevez and Llorente really good enough to build a team around, are they really going to be untouchable? I doubt it.

Neither of them are World Class and if the formation is holding us back, it doesn't make sense to stick to it just to play both of them together.

Against real madrid, marchisio was playing in the right wing and he neutralized Marcelo. Tevez was on the left wing- he didn't had to mark arbeloa, because arbeloa can't play football. I'd call it 4-3-3.
but we don't wanna put tevez on the left, do we?

He was good, but annoyed the piss out of me. Constantly fouling our players, pulling shirts, diving. I suppose he's one of those players you love when he's playing for you, and hate when he's playing for the opposition team.

And that's exactly why we should buy him.

Didn't catch that, Finty, but yes, that's a good comparison I suppose.

I've always been welcome to the idea of signing Diamanti, and that won't change.
