And this Juventus management doesn't tend to purchase players unfamiliar with Italy in January. Nainggolan is one to speculate around. Fingers crossed.
I'd have liked if we had managed to bring him this summer. Our midfield is a bit tin and Radja is fantastic player who, apart from being a great depth, could definitely challenge some of our starters.
Yea okay that is the least of my worries. Why do we need to spend so much on a back up cm? Everyone was aganist the Ogbonna deal and this guy will cost more. If we do switch formations say to a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 we wouldnt necessarily need a cm.
We would have Marchisio, Vidal, Pogba, Asa, and Padoin(if necessary). Another cm would be nice if we continue with a 3 man midfield but why not just take Marrone back? I don't see the point in spending around 20m for nainggolan over buying wingers who at this point are more necessary.
santon is just 22 with plenty of room to improve. i dont say he will turn into world class for sure (he may), but with young players there is a possibility they will improve, and with pelusos and padoins you know they reached their maximum and wont improve.

I agree. If we let Pirlo go get Marrone back as backup instead of spending big cash for another cm. 18m would land us a quality winger which we're desperate for right now. If you add to it some cash we could do even better.
Starting RM/RWF > bench option CM. That's how I see it.

Marrone doesn't have enough quality and will probably be used in some sort of exchange deal for some promising youngster in the future. Same with Padoin and that guy should only be used in a case of an extreme emergency; the best thing would be to sell him. We're likely to continue with 3 man midfield and if one of our starters gets injured, as it happened not so long ago, we'll be left basically without options. Radja won't necessarily cost us 18m and I don't know where did you get that price anyway. We need 5 good midfielders in the most important area of our team to stay competitive at the highest level. And also after tomorrow Asamoah might become our LB permanently. He has all the right characteristics for that spot.
I don't feel comfortable with Marrone or Padoin in midfield
The way I see it, is that if we stick with a 3 man midfield. We ought to have 5 quality CMs who we can play against decent opponents and not be thinking 'fuck, we have a huge weakness now' at the same time
If we went from MVP to MVpadoin in a match, or any other variant. I'd be shit scared for the team. Marrone? Not as bad as Padoin, but I wouldn't want to see him anywhere near the pitch in a big encounter.
Nianggolan and Marchisio/Pogba coming off of the bench on the other hand...
I think our team would continue as if nothing had happened.
